i'll wait and see how it works out

me too.

rantard logic tells us that if you receive negative results one time then the same decision should never be made again. it also tells us that when you receive good results several times it is easily explained away as luck.

co-coordinators have worked out just fine in several other instances as has promoting from within a staff.

no matter who the hire is I'll see what the product on the field is before i change my opinion on anybody. odd concept I know but it's gotten me this far. meanwhile Nuts4LSU is in a padded cell dosed up on lithium rocking back and forth humming "time is on my side".

What is loyalty? If Les ends up making another critical mistake that could drag down the program, then you'll be forced to either by loyal to LSU Tiger football, or loyal to Coach Les Miles... I hate to polarize the situation, but in some situations, by not calling for his head, your showing lack of loyalty for the program itself. Hell with the man who's currently and temporarily in charge of it.

To the OP: No coach is immune from mistakes and no fan has 20/20 foresight.

Why get so worked up before (1) a new OC is named or (2) the new OC screws up more than once?

Like what? He doesn't call a time out when you think he should? He allows a play to be called that doesn't get a 1st down in a critical situation?

What type of decision would Les make that would DRAG DOWN THE PROGRAM?

This type of black or white thinking is the stuff I love to read on the Rant. This type of thinking is something I would expect from a 10 year old.

How about this? How about we not call for the head of the head coach when we lose a game? How about we take a step back and evaluate the situation without over reacting?

You are an atrcious poster. And likely human being. Why dont' you just go ahead and kill yourself and save yourself all the years of misery over things that have not--and likely will not--happened.

I would think that Les has a better handle on where he wants the program to go and who might be better equipped to handle that than a bunch of stupid fans. Stick to tailgating and getting drunk.

This comment has entirely too much wisdom to be on this board.....

Again, I think that the OC will be a 'yes man', so I won't put a lot of stock in an established offensive guy vs. a young and upcoming offensive guy. I'm just hoping that Les doesn't clash w/ him like he seemed to do w/ Crowton. Bottom line is even with the HC and OC clashing, and terrible QB play, the Tigers somehow went 10-2. I can only hope for some of the same results in the future.

I know this was meant half humorously, but there's some truth in it.

During the season, some guy was bitching about Miles because "LSU football isn't entertaining enough and it's ruining my house parties and tailgating."

To many so-called "fans" these days, LSU football is just another excuse to get drunk on their asses, impress the neighbors with their tailgating "rig," and/or try to suck some corporate dick to swing that big deal or get that promotion.

If Les clashing with him meant he didn't call any flea-flickers from inside LSU's 1 yard line, then I'm all for it. It's the head coaches job to set the tone and overall strategy for the team, the the coordinator's job to implement based on that. If the head coach wants to run some clock, while the OC would rather air it out, that's not 'clashing'

Im willing to give Mr Coach Miles benefit of the doubt with all decisions. He fricked up with the co-DC issue and he corrected it. He is now in the process of corrected the Crowton issue. Things take a bit of time and I trust he'll get it right.

b.) Favorites, yes. Ridley this, Ridley that. Ridley left because Spencer Ware is flat out better than him, and probably isn't the only blue chip recruit (that Ridley wasn't) that would likely show him up with less than 1/2 the carries he gets

would you have benched Ridley for Ware?? frickin' seriously???

Ridley was a 1000 yard rusher who had been in the system for 3 years....you don't bench a guy like that just because his back-up had 5 stars next to his name on some stupid website.

HELL YES I WOULD HAVE. You don't keep talent off the field because the guy in that position was the starter last year or was thought to be the best man for the job coming into this season.

1000 yard rusher with 250+ attempts? That's impressive? 250 attempts... how many of his yards came from running the ball on third and long when the defense wasn't even playing the run and LSU wasn't even attempting a first down?

LINK

Ridley was ranked 36 of the top 50 running backs in YARDS per GAME....

He was 49 of 50of those same 50 backs in yards per carry.

He finished with 0.8 yards per carry better than Jordan Jefferson. He finished with less yards per carry than Michael Ford and significantly less yards per carry then Spencer Ware.

Give Spencer Ware 250+ touches, hell M. Ford with that many touches would have finished with more yards for the simple fact that he has the ability to get break aways.

All Miles did was put the guy who most closely resembled J. Hester in by start C. Scott 2 years ago, and all he did was picked the guy who most closely resembled C. Scott after this past season and started Ridley.

If you didn't have your ignorance shoved down your throat enough lets go with this. K. Williams even called in and asked why Ford hadn't been getting to play this year... you know the guy who also didn't get to play because he had Leslie's favorite Charles Scott starting over him... you know the guy who didn't even make the cut in the NFL while K. Williams racked up over 250+ yards and 30+ receptions this year.

The stats don't lie. I'm not an idealist and maybe some people on this board get butt hurt about that, but im sick and tired of seeing great players ride the bench behind favorites.

I'll bet you are.
You are tired of not getting promotions because of favorites.
You are tired of not getting dates because of favorites.
You are tired of hearing about how good favorites are compared to you.
You are tired of favorites always doing better than you do.

Yeah losers are always tired of favorites.
