Wade mentioned he had zero idea who the starter could be at some of these positions. The best offensive player was the worst defensive player at that position. Worst offensive was the best defensive. Probably will be a balance

This first month will say a lot

excited to see what they look like

I think Epps is out for now (at least for the opener).

Wade probably wants Sampson at the 3, but he just doesn't defend. Maybe the same for Edwards.

Tough to say, tomorrow it will probably look different than it willl more games in. Not sure if Epps will play tomorrow or maybe get a few minutes. I think this is what Wade wants to see:

5 - Reath
4 - Epps
3 - Sampson
2 - Mays
1 - Waters

I think Combs starts the 4 tomorrow if Epps is still pretty banged up. Onwuasor will play a lot. Kiir will get probably 10 minutes a game reliving Reath. Sims will see significant minutes and so will Edwards if he gets hot from 3 and Rachal with his versatility.

Wade spoke about this to the media this week, 3 of the 5 are set. Rest is up to who steps up and plays with consistency:

quote:

Wade heads into the game confident in three of his five starting spots: Tremont Waters at the 1, Skylar Mays at the 2, and Duop Reath at the 5

quote:

“Bad practice yesterday,” Wade said Wednesday. “Four man’s back open. I thought we had four settled. I love (Wayde) Sims, but when Sims gets comfortable, it just gets bad. We need (Aaron) Epps back so we have someone to push Sims.”

Epps, a likely starter at full health, is still not cleared for full practice while battling a foot injury, so Sims has stepped in as a starter, registering a double-double in LSU’s 84-74 exhibition loss to Tulane. But Sims faces the same problem projected starter Brandon Sampson faces at the 3: anomalous day-to-day performances.

So having said all that ...

Waters
Mays
Sampson
Epps
Reath

I expect the bench rotation to look something like:

Edwards/Onwuasor providing minutes at the 2/3
Combs/Sims/Kiir rotating in the front court.
