Offense was unproductive, undisciplined, and penalty ridden early on, O was forced to meddle. Canada did not take direction well. Conflict ensued

Best explanation so far besides LSU Granddad. If O had not stepped in, the same people would be railing him as weak and timid. I believe there were better choices when O was hired but he is here now and did what the HC is supposed to do when you let an assistant run his own thing not fixing sht and it costs games. State loss was heavily on Canada's shoulders as he called a shitty game against a stout defense with a DC that had him figured out. It forced the defense to play too much.

Against Troy after O said scale back on the things causing false starts and illegal formations, Canada purposely called the worst sht he could call since O wanted to scale back the motion. You can't tell me that Canada couldn't still call effective plays and adjust without 20 seconds of motion prior to every play.

He did that to throw O under the bus and it ended up costing him yet another job just like when he was left behind by Brett B. He's a selfish, hot head who can't adjust for sht. I also believe he called the shots with QB's and was the one refusing to give MB more playing time. Just my opinion, but it fits with all that has happened.

Ed Orgeron needs to move fast and get a quality OC in place. Someone who will settle the natives down. This levee is about to break.

Anyway you try to paint this, it's a mess. Does not bode well for Coach Orgeron. Matt Canada was a highly sought OC with impressive credentials.

I'm not picking sides here. Just dealing in reality. Not good.

My guess, after Kiffin took FAU job, O was under pressure to make a big hire (not Ensminger ) and listened to someone who convinced him to hire Canada, whom he did not know. But the offense was not as promised, penalties and confusion, and the longer O was around Canada, realized he couldn’t stand the guy (guessing some other coaches also had issues with him). Not enough improvement in offense over year to make up for the aggravation, so Canada had to go. He had enough culpability in this to make him agree to the buyout.
