What was the chance of winning with 2 outs in the 8th?

Still up 9-1.

Had to be over 99.9%.

In actually, this feels like you got swept.

It's as if the first two games of the series didn't happen.

Even after the first home run it was 9-5 with 2 outs and the bases empty and LSU managed to give up a grand slam.

That's what grinds my gears about this loss. We were up by 8 runs and they had two outs. He can't bring in one pitcher to throw strikes or something?

Floyd did well, I mean he got the final out. Why not try him instead of going through pitcher after pitcher after pitcher, all while they have two outs.

Ugh

What happened when Mainieri got thrown out? What I mean is, I just read that he was pretty verbal to the ump but I never saw the video of it. I was listening to the game. Blair and Franques didn't really speak a whole lot about it. He was out there talking to the pitcher and an ump walked up and then the next thing Blair said was, "they're going to throw Mainieri out of the game" I was like

I was busy with BPB, birdman, but they didn't show much of it on SECN+ either. I had basically the same reaction, like "Now he's getting thrown out? OK then."

That's how it sounded on the radio too. I was like, "what's he being tossed out for? Talking to his pitcher?"

It just seemed weird and a bit excessive. From what I heard.

Thanks for the BPB as always, Cheer. Hope you're doing well.

PM had his mask up but you could tell he was giving to the ump. Announcers said it was because of a pitch. You could see the ump putting up his hand to say that was enough. Paul kept going and the ump tossed him.

He thought the batter had struck out before hitting the grand slam.

It was about the low strike he didn’t call that would’ve ended the inning.

I get that the umps will let it go for a little while but it seemed like it happened so fast.

He was out there talking to the pitcher and the ump went out and boom, he's tossed. Not saying you're lying, but it was like he didn't have enough time to "keep going." Even Blair and Franques were confused.

(Plus I believe what you say, Lunny )

Does anyone have video of it? I'm just going by what I heard on the radio and what others have said.

This. It was Edwards’ 3-2 pitch to the batter that walked to load the bases before the grand slam. He should have been mad because that pitch was called a strike the majority of the day. But he also should have been mad at Dunn for his shitty pitch calling because edwards had that guy down 0-2 and Dunn fell in love with a pitch that edwards couldn’t execute with several sliders in the dirt, before finally going back to a fastball that was apparently low.

Right then and there Fontenot should have been brought in to throw 30-40 pitches. No reason whatsoever he wasn't ready after a day off. He was still throwing low 90s Friday night after 60 pitches.
