Before the season started, Oregon and WV were the queston marks.
Now that we handeled Oregon and WV has played some games, how do we match up?

I watched WV vs Marshall, I think LSU wins easily. Marshall shut WV down the first half and moved the ball on them the whole game. Talked to a friend of mine who goes to all the WV games (LSU grad who lives in WV now); he thinks they might keep it close for a half but doesn't think they can win.

I think that's gonna be most games against LSU this year. The other team will keep it close in the first half, but then gets beat down and worn out in the second half.

Absolutely. This Maryland team is favored this week, that game is not a gimme for the 'neers.

I think long term Holgerson is gonna work out for them, but for now they just aren't as good as they've been in recent years. Like others have said, I expect we pull away in the second half and win by around 17-20.

Meh ... not sure anyone will be that pissed, but the game will probably provide some insight too.

Next week will be a test of our secondary. Our rushing defense will not be tested against WVA. WVA rushed for about 50yds against Marshall and about 100yds against Norfolk St. However, WVA QB Gino Smith has thrown for 620yds 6 tds 0 picks in the first 2 games. He is a fairly pollished passer and is a threat to run. WVA has not turned the ball over yet this year, and has not committed many penalties. Our secondary and special teams will need to be sound and focused again next week. WVA may only have a handful of guys that could crack LSU's 2-deep roster but morgantown is a very tough place to play and a long trip. It will be our 3rd road trip in 4 weeks, hopefully it is a non-issue. After looking at WVA's numbers in rush and pass defense against Norfolk St and Marshall, it looks like LSU will be able to do just about anything they want on offense. One stat that was a llittle surprising to me was that WVA is not good at posessing the ball. They lost the time of posession battle to Marshall and barely won the time of posession against NFS. LSU should be able to dominate offensively and posess the ball for long periods of time. WVA's offense plays into our hands very well. They either score quickly or go 3 and out quickly. They are a pass first spread offense. They will be effective with this style of offense if they slow down the pace and eat up more clock than usual, run a little more than they normally do, and if Gino Smith gets the ball out quickly every time. If they try 5-7 step drops, Gino will get smashed. Their offensive line struggles with run blocking, which speaks volumes about their team in general, considering that O-lineman typically enjoy run blocking the most. Depending on field position I see WVA scoring about 10-13 points on offense. I see LSU rolling up a ton of yards on offense and, depending on field position, scoring about 27-31 points on offense. If you factor in the possiblity of points off of WVA turnovers (They haven't turned it over yet this year) I'd put the final score at 38-12 LSU. This is my official prediction. And I don't really know how much of an impact Russell S. will have considering he missed the first 3 games and the emergence of Odel B. has been impressive to say the least. Clearly I'm bored.

I disagree totally. I have some confidential inside information that one of the teams is going to lose!

Smith won't make it through the game. He's mostly a pocket passer from what I've seen.....Not a good match-up with LSU's rushing speed. The rush has been tentative because of containment/assignments, but Smith is going to see some pressure from everywhere.

If wvu can't run, it's going to be a long night for them.

The DLine will just pin their ears back.

WVU couldn't hold the front four from Marshall and even poor old Norfolk St was getting pressure rushing three.

We are going to set up camp in their backfield.
