I still didn't think he was that old. 20 yr old freshman?

That's uncommon huh?
Some parents of athletes get a school to hold their kid back in their primary school years so that the boy will be almost a year older than his classmates.
That gives him a slight advantage competing against other athletes in high school.

Does Duplantis stay or go with a 19th round pick?

The MLB scouting network is unbelievable. To think that all of these unknown guys have had a scout identify them is amazing.

I think Dup, Hess, and Watson are all coming back.

I didn't know if Duplantis' loss of leverage next year changed his equation. However, not sure how much leverage he as in round 19 anyway.

Its something Ouachita Christian is famous for. Same thing with Mark Laird. Laird's year they had I think 5 19 year old seniors on their baseball team.

I'll let him remain anonymous............for now.
PS-I bookmarked his post when he said that.....

Drafted
SS Brice Turang (1st round) - expected to sign.
P Nick Bush (8th round) - expected to sign.
P Levi Kelly (8th round) - expected to sign.
P Cam Sanders (12th round) - expected to sign.
C Hunter Feduccia (12th round) - expected to sign.
OF Elijah Cabell (14th round) - ???.
3B/1B Jake Slaughter (18th round) - ???.
OF Antoine Duplantis (19th round) - ???.
Hopefully we can keep 2 of Cabell, Slaughter, & Duplantis. Losing both Cabell & Duplantis would suck for our OF situation.
Undrafted players at risk of signing. Pretty sure Hess & Watson are coming back though.
P Jaden Hill
C C.J. Willis
P Zach Hess
OF Zach Watson

I would not be shocked to see him go. He seems like a good kid, so I hope he can make some money if he does choose to go pro.

In reality how much is Dup really looking at? I get the feeling at this point in the draft it comes down more to wanting to start your pro career than money.

Probably not a whole lot. I think he ends up coming back for his senior year.

Duplantis said Sunday after being eliminated from the NCAA Regional he is realistic that could have been his last LSU game. He said last week he doesn't want to just leave for the sake of leaving and wants to go somewhere that treats him how he deserves to be treated.
"Is it worth leaving, you know?" he said. "Because obviously I can never come back to college. Pro ball will always be there."
LSU coach Paul Mainieri went out of his way to speak fondly about Duplantis on Sunday in case that was indeed his final game.
"I'm not sure what's gonna happen with Antoine," Mainieri said, "but if that's the last game Antoine's played for LSU, he'll go down in history as one of the greatest of all time."
Mainieri went on to say they would, of course, love to have him back and he could end his career with even greater legacy.
The slotted signing bonus in the 19th round is $125,000.

Not much, and after agents and taxes, he gets even less. I've had friends who had class with him and said he obviously had no desire to be there. That may factor into his decision as well.
