Whoa with that one. Dean didn't have a position or a functioning shoulder after his Junior year. He only came back to play 1B and prove he had a position and an arm. The irony of which is that Smoke brought him in as a pitcher.

I realize this, but Dean was like an 9th Rd pick after his Jr year. He was a more well rounded offensive player, id say.

I could be the wrong one. I vaguely remember the number being discussed.

Looks like A few 4 year Srs getting picked now.

Who here had Cam Sanders being the first LSU player picked back in February???

I know for a fact that Watson is gone. This comes from his closet family member.

No doubt, but that doesn't make him a better overall prospect. DHes aren't viable draft options especially when it's known that they need surgery.

A lot of local talk guys are all of a sudden saying that they were calling Cam Sanders a 1 and done JUCO guy before the season started. I never heard them saying that

Nobody, but you could clearly see that his stuff was electric from pitch one. Just didn't help LSU much when he was throwing it in the batters box. MLB teams have to like what he has, and it probably really helps that he showed the ability to put it together late. Too bad he wasn't able to benefit LSU a whole lot, but I'm sure Dunn really helped get Sanders where he wanted to be.

It was mentioned when he was brought in by a few guys. It's not an unheard of route to take for a juco transfer. Feduccia was mentioned more often though.

Duplantis > Laird for sure

Laird's out of baseball now i think. He probably wishes he would have played another year at LSU

Laird was also a year old, draft eligible soph IIRC

There was definitely a feeling that he would be at a minimum the third starter. Kid had a ton of hype going in to last season.

Sanders was a great prospect heading into this year, however he didn't seem to get comfortable until May.

I had him as the 5th prospect on LSU's roster

The Rangers just drafted a 5'8" 145 lb high school kid.

Why didn't we offer?

ETA: He is an Oregon St commit.

He was. And he was scared of losing negotiating power.

well, they find a place for you if you can hit.

If you can't hit(or own 70+ grade tool, ie fielding or speed), the find reasons to keep passing you up.
