Tennessee commit Jonathan Ornelas just got drafted. His number was a hard $850K. Rangers must be going over slot for him.

ProjectP, with Marcineaux's number supposedly 1 mil plus...we are now in the 500,000 in slot values. Will it be hard for a team to get him now?

I didn’t hear that number. But he could still go after 10 to a team with a lot of money to throw around.

Vandy commit Ryder Green to the Yankees.

I don't know what Marceaux's number is. But I think it's higher than the slot values now. Which still doesn't get us out of the woods on him yet though.

The round they get drafted doesn't mean anything. You'll start to see teams draft seniors with no leverage in the next few rounds(see Kramer Robertson, freeman, Poche last year). They'll sign them under slot which will leave them more money to sign guys over slot in the later rounds.

I'd be worried about certain teams. There are 3 or 4 who have a lot of pool money to spend.

No. I mean after round 10. If his number is over 600k, then he won't get picked until 11.

It actually means far more now than it did prior to 2012, for the reason you mentioned later in the post.

They upped the exemption to 125K, but whoever gets him would have to save a ton if they pick him 11 or later.

To an extent. Players aren't taken on a "best available" basis (not that they ever were really) once you hit round 4 and teams go after the cheap seniors to save some cash for the later rounds.
