Just damn. That must have been one hell of a cheer! I wish I could have been in Tiger Stadium that day.

im not exagerating, it was such a loud sustained roar it actually turned into an extremely loud hum. i was in awe.

LSU will not win every title game they play in so prepare yourself now.

Going out on a limb on that one, huh? You think I'm going to hope that they lose because I'm scared for LSU to play them, like we're some kind of wusses? We'll take our chances, just give us the opportunity. Oh, and in championship games, combining football and baseball, we're 7-0.

Just ask the Patriots what the past records mean.

Good point. But I merely said I wanted to beat USC in a champ game. YOU then said that LSU will not win every champ game we play in. I made my point, and for good measure reminded you of our record.

It is disappointing (more disappointing two years ago than this past year, since we only had 3 senior starters, but it is disappointing.)

I'm an LSU fan. Just like to light a fire under people and get them fired up.

In general, without any relevance to LSU's standing in polls, conference, etc., Notre Dame. By a mile.

USC because when they do lose, it almost necessarily has to be to a huge underdog. See, Stanford, Oregon St., UCLA.

One of the most embarrising times for me as a Tiger fan was when the LSU fans cheered at the Florida game when we were lossing because they announced that USC lost.

As another poster mentioned, there was more going on at that point in the game. LSU had a HUGE play that started to turn the momentum their way, and the crowd was going nuts. Then, on the heels of that play, they anounced that USC had lost. So, it wasn't simply USC's loss to Stanford that made it so loud and so electric, it was that you could also feel the momentum shift. There was just a feeling that, despite the fact that they were behind at the time, the Tigers were going to win and that they would be a lock to be #1 because of the USC loss. The fact that USC is the devil was lagniappe.

And it was definately the longest roar that I've heard, but not quite the loudest. The loudest was the NO, NO, NO, YEEESSSSS!!!! Catch by D Byrd later last season to end the Auburn game.

I shite you not, I could barely speak or hear for days after some of those games last season. They were intense. There will never be a more exciting season.

With that out of the way, I'll stick with the topic of the post. I actually have a list of games each week, all based on how they impact LSU's chances for the post season. Generally, I pull for the following:

1.) If SEC East vs. SEC West - pull for the East
2.) If SEC vs. out of conference - pull for SEC
3.) Whoever is playing OSU, USC, Oklahoma or Texas, because they general play a pathetic conference schedule and you can be certain that there won't be many opportunities for them to lose.

I will say that the competition seems to be improving in the Big 12 (finally). They are easily the second toughest conference behind the SEC. I'm not sure that you'll see the same level of dominance from Texas and Oklahoma that you have in the past.
So, for this year, I'll be pulling against the winner of the OSU / USC game.

A Notre Lame loss is always good for me. I can't stomach the constant what-if lovefest & Granny Lou is sickening.

I dont get the intense Irish hate. Growing up, my dad was always LSU first then Notre Dame second. Tulane doesnt count even though in his day the Greenies were a force in football. I did not grow up pulling for Notre Dame, but I never really rejoiced when they lost.

I am going to stick with my first choice which is USC. The media (ie: ESPN)seems to give them a pass when they lose that is not given to other teams. I love kicking back in my chair late Saturday early Sunday watching the highlights of the days action. Seeing the mighty Trojans fall always give me reason to lift my glass!!

Maybe you are better than that, As for me I was jumping with joy. Just saying... I hate SC more than I hate Bama and that's saying a lot in itself.
