What players move on?

I was reading that 8 or 9 players have to move on to make the incoming class work. We know Greedy and Ed have declared. And a couple more may declare. So who are the others 5 or 6 players to move on?

Receivers, at least one RB, maybe one of the DE’s

Are you referring to a problem with the 85 scholarship limit?

I hate speculating on this stuff. Unfair to those guys

Those 2 are seniors so already accounted for.
3 easy ones are Drake Davis, Ingram and Taylor.
RB-Provens or Curry could bolt.
WR-any number of kids though I don't think we much movement here. We are young.
TE-hopefully 1 or 2 move on. We have too many
OL-though sort of hard to figure who, there's always 1 or 2 OL that leave for one reason or another.
DL-id think they all stay(hopefully the draft eligible ones also) but you never know
LB-boumd to be a guy that gets tired of waiting.
DB- could see Netherly or Kirklin move on but who knows.
S-really curious about Monroe. Something seems strange with him. I know injury and all but it's been kind if hush in any progress pertaining to him.
Another easy one should be Conner Culp. It seems pretty obvious he's never gonna he worth salt here.
We always lose a couple we'd rather not and I hate speculating in which kids will leave. They're all Tigers while here.

Too many TEs? Kirklin? Man did you watch any games this year?

This kid seems like a warrior, plus got to get game time and a redshirt. I say no way he rides out.

I hate to say it but I feel like Dee Anderson May be one of those guys to transfer and blow up or test his luck in draft and catch on as a UDFA.
Dee is a beast and you could see it when he got the ball. Dude just stayed in the doghouse and this year we couldn’t get it to him consistently. He’s 6’5 220lb, runs good routes, can high point the ball, and catches with his hands.
I pray he sticks around.

247sports article on the subject
Dang, I didn't realize the predicament we were in. Maybe it's a blessing Ed Alexander declared (but wish he had stuck around for the bowl game). When do we have to be down to 85? Signing day or kickoff against Texas?
Makes you wonder if the coaches ask certain players to move on.

As of today, I think we have 15 spots available. This includes Drake Davis being off the team, and Ingram and Taylor on the team.
It also only accounts for Greedy and Alexander leaving early.
I don't love speculating on this, but I think it's reasonable to say that Moss might be a medical casualty.

We've got Pettigrew, Moffitt, Moss, Scheffler, Scott, now Mcklendon and Turner with Parker wanting to play it at TE. For a position that gets no throws and only blocks, too many. Lose a couple.
As for Kirklin what has he shown? He was supposed to take over PR and didn't and only really played on special teams. Not one expert on our team mentions uim when talking returning CBs, only Fulton, Vincent and Joseph plus the new kids coming. He or Netherly likely bounce if not both. We may not want them to but we have to lose 9-10 kids and there aren't that many I'd rather lose over them. It's harsh and I hate even talking about it but we have to lose kids so choices of who you rather see leave have to be made.
I could point out 10-15 kids I expect to never do more than play special teams here. Kids like that, aside from those leader types that are good for the locker room, are yearly on the cutting block. Just the nature of the beast. If we planned on them staying around the staff wouldn't take a full class or near it. They are doing the same thing we are.

I'm with you on the TEs. I could lose three and not think twice. Totally disagree about JK and MN though. I think they're going to both be really good, especially Netherly.
Regardless of who goes, it's going to be harsh. But this is what needs to be done to continually improve the roster. It's going to create more competition and cull weak links.

Dee Anderson isn’t going anywhere
Posted on 12/20/18 at 10:31 pm to Stellytiger
I think right now Dee Anderson is leaning more towards leaving as opposed to staying. Rashard Lawrence probably 50/50. Devin White is leaning more towards staying but that could change in a hurry. Fulton is probably 85% leaning more towards staying. Those are the draft eligible guys worth talking about.
Fehoko is staying 100%.
Could see Giles graduating and moving on, sometimes it just does not work out, he has been a stand up guy, leader and a true Tiger. I actually think Taylor and Ingram will be back....I agree with you as well on seeing one offensive lineman atleast moving on because of numbers. Definitely will be som numbers but max 3-4 guys get "processed". Probably closer to 1-2.
Greedy and Alexander have already declared.

With any luck it'll be Brennan.

Agreed...might be our most talented upperclassmen receiver.

Maybe the coaches do let Maurice Hampton sign in Feb if nobody else declares for the draft. Then even if he goes to the MLB, we save one of the 85.
