Deep ball is better but you are right in he still is a little late on his deep balls. The better SEC teams will be knocking these down or INT.

He had chark wide open on an out route when he threw that deep ball to Sullivan

A good safety also has a chance to pick that.

You need to go watch girls volleyball and stop watching LSU football. I seem to remember Mett making those kind of throws and far worse, yet most LSU fans consider him to be the best passer at LSU in recent times. Apparently, your memory is very conveniently faulty to remember all those spectacular acrobatic one handed catches made by Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham, Jr.

Etling isn't getting lucky you ignoramus. Instead, he's exposing the fact that you are a major moron who doesn't know anything about football.

It may shock you to learn that QBs often throw the ball the receivers who are either tall or can jump high enough to get a high pass, even in coverage. This is considered a good thing if executed properly, which Etling did.

Our WRs had to fight to prevent the INT, let alone make the catch.

That's how the play is designed to work.

We have had no passing game for so long, we apparently forgot what it looks like. You'll see those balls in every game on Saturday and Sunday. A QB needs to take risks sometimes. The chemistry with and confidence in his receivers got a big boost on Saturday, and that can only help.

The former Vanderbilt QB calling the game on the SECN said the opposite, that his long balls were improved and he had to correct for the WRs

How about you stop watching LSU football? All you do is create hostility on here.

I agree to a point. But I also look at these throws as a chance to work on a much more inferior team where you have the advantage. I think he's about 50/50 as far as throwing nice passes and what we see as making bad decisions. But when Canada says throw it long, you throw it long and trust he knows what he's doing. Especially in these warmup games. What I did love was he didn't stare down his receivers and his throw to Chark was a thing of beauty.

I think he's improved greatly and think he will be more short and mid range in higher competition games. But now he get's the respect for those deep balls because the other team see's these and knows there is a good chance we'll chunk one downfield.

When a QB throws a jump ball to a guy who had his man beat, I'll bet you $1,000 he would rather lead the man and hit him in stride.

We target WRs with big bodies so they can win those 50/50 balls, but it is ridiculous to suggest we're TRYING to make it a 50/50 ball when it could have been a catch in stride.

Harris played really well on Saturday. I'll be surprised if he doesn't start for UNC in their next game.

No because you dumbasses refuse to see that Etling is making progress. Exactly wtf is the solution for you whiners?

We have one of the top OCs in the country and a QB who has made major stridesin his game but you nitwits can do nothing but bitch. Yet you have zero solutions to problems which are marginal at best.

For some reason some of you will always find something to criticize about Etling. I think I know what it is but I dont. Want to go down that path.

Etling is the QB and Brennan is the backup and I am certain that drives some on these board crazy. So be it.
