What is the rule on celebrating and/or taunting?

I remember being pissed off when Brad Wong got flagged andhis touchdown called back because he pointed at the coverage while scorching their arse. I guess that was a “taunting “ penalty, but it was absurd.
I assume the penalty in the Arkansas game was
for having too much fun after scoring(excessive celebration in the end zone?).
Are these SEC rules or NCAA rules? Any rule like this needs to be enforced even handedly
But only in the most egregious cases. It shouldn’t affect a game outcome, regardless.

Don't do it ever ever ever ever. Or you get a flag.
God forbid some kids have fun after a touchdown. I can understand standing over a guy or something "disrespectful", but a small little dance after a touchdown should be ok.

Cody talked about in the Hey Fightin Podcast: LINK
Essentially, the rule is written vaguely so as to be subjective. The language is about bringing attention to yourself. During the first touchdown the ref stepped in and likely gave them a warning. So, having 3 guys all together was likely deserving of a no fun flag.

That was the first year that if you taunted before scoring a touchdown the penalty would take the score off the board. Before then it was a penalty that was enforced on the extra point or kickoff.
The coaches voted for that rule change.

Just another one of the many subjective and arbitrarily-applied rules that allow Refs to manipulate the outcome of games, if they so desire, for whatever personal or professional reason.

The shitty part is they have done it after just about every score this season and not so much as a warning it seems until this double he nozzle thos weekend.
Hell even the Bama game they did it and weren't flagged

It really doesn't matter what the rule is. Like holding, block in the back, pass interference..........there will never be any consistency in what is called.

We can cry about how unfair the rule is, but the bottom line is if you know you could be flagged for something, it's probably best to not do it.

Two Wongs don’t make a white.
Sorry, I’ll see myself out...

You don’t remember the punter who opened a Chinese take-out on Highland?

And has anyone besides Wing ever had points taken off the board for that penalty????
