Stop. Woodward only gave the initial Jimbo contract

You should have never started

Saban had an 8-year $32M contract. He then wins 5 NCG, and plays in 2 more. His first extension was an 8-yr, $55.2 million deal. His last extension was an 8-year $93.6 million contract. For Saban!!

Woodward was the AD that started this madness

Woodward gives Jimbo a 10-yr $75M contract at A&M
Then at LSU offers him another 10-yr $125M contract
But settles on BK for 10-yr $100M contract

Jimbo had 1 whole NCG win, and BK had zero, yet SW paid them more than Bama paid Saban to come back to D1 football

There is no defending that moron. Coach O and BK took his money, and then kicked up their heels, living the good life

Someone knows the real truth…..someone always does BUT IT IS NOT OR EVER A TIGER RANT person. This site is for best guess, outright bull or to let out steam for something you can’t control. It is fun to read.

He got his arse destroyed in TS 3 separate times. That was strikes 1-3. His teams quit on him and that was in three separate years so it wasn’t just one spoiled roster. He was the cancer

Not at all true but nice twist on reality

Neither guy got paid more than saban per year.

And woody never acted alone. Both deals were accepted by the respected boards, presidents and at least here, the governor

Woody never acted in a rogue or arbitrarily. He just has to take the arrows from message board tough guys and petty politicians

Such a dumb cop out.

He is the athletic director. His job is to protect and grow LSU athletics.

They defer to him.

Absolutely no one was begging for Brian Kelly I can assure you that.

You sign someone to 1 years and $100
Million you better be sure that’s the guy because you will be judged on that.

Even at lsu baseball and Wbb is window dressing

Just think about what you typed here

Saban and BK were both making $800K per game in '22. A guy with no hardware in the trophy case vs Saban

The decision was made to fire Kelly after the Vanderbilt game, he was essentially on continuous 1 game trials with the board waiting for the next loss. The only way he would have not been fired even at the end of the season would have been to win out. The loss to A&M was enough, especially given the way we lost.
The board had the money together by Wednesday prior to A&M game.
Kelly first realized he was fired when his site accesses were cut off.

Obviously his overall W-L record was not good enough, especially against his contract.
The next issue was his overall demeaner towards everyone. He was arrogant to the point of being tone deaf to everything/everyone around him including his own assistant coaches and his press-conferences and handling of the media.

He was the best available and had fantastic resume. Who did you want that was cheaper?

Kiffin (at least his agent) was contacted. Kiffin was far from a guarantee. His record at Ole miss wasn’t all that great up to 2022. He’d been fired twice. Oh, and Kiffin required a buyout. (Little lying Landry don’t like that)
Kelly was a more stabilizing coach at a time that we needed it. Never fired and more seasoned.

Kiffin obviously would have been better but you only know that now. He cleaned up a lot of his personal life which helped him along the way. He and Kelly’s records between 2022 and 2025 aren’t all that different either. Actually kelly having won the sec has a better record.

None of this even matters since it’s hindsight and one of the easiest things in the world is to take shots at results in hindsight. It’s even easier to do it hiding behind a keyboard

You are literally the first person who has ever alluded to Kiffin being contacted in 2021.

He also would have been better and cheaper.

I said this in 2021.

This isn’t hindsight.

He had been at ND for 12 seasons. He was blown out and 0-3 in playoffs. He lost to the Gumps in 2012 BCS championship which was later vacated along with the 2012 and 2013 seasons for misconduct. The guy is a complete fraud as a head coach so far as I am concerned. Scott Woodward richly deserved to be let go as well. How’s that for a resume not to mention the player that died during one of his practices?

You completely ignore the positives.

And who was better that was available at the time?

And Woodward is the best AD that LSU could have gotten when we hired him. It’s not even close.

So if the pool was so shallow why accede to a 10 year deal in this 60 year old loser. ND made the playoffs due in no small part to the fact they had a schedule populated with weak sisters. Evidently Scott knew little about the man as a coach or maybe he did. Either way he completely failed at his only real mission- secure the football program. Look at it now. SMH
