Hanging your arm over the plate to try and get hit is a bullshite move. When you're not even man enough to take the hit, opting for armor, you're just a pussy and disgrace.

If LSU was winning that way like UCLA last night - the majority on this board would call it "thinking man's baseball" or real baseball and a pitcher's duel.

But since LSU lost - everyone suddenly blames the bats and wants to go back to the CWS being...21-14.

Yeah, football scores...that's real baseball - not boring.

If you think the game the other night was boring, you just don't like baseball...and only got into College Baseball because of the jacked metal bats.

I think the bats have equalized the margin of difference between teams. With fewer runs there is a smaller margin of difference allowing a larger component of chance in deciding games. The difference between team 1 and 50 today and much closer than 15 years ago. Small ball and the new bats have helped the second-tier teams much more from a statistical standpoint. Over the course of a long season it plays out, but in a small sample size, you just never know.

Bull crap - I'm getting tired of you so-called "purists" putting down those of us that like some offense. Sure, 20 run games are a bit much, but there has to be some middle ground between that and this boring, yes boring, brand of ball that we are seeing in Omaha now.

Is there something they can do with the footballs? Maybe make the basketball players shorter? It's not fair that Kentucky has 5 seven foot players every year, or bama has lbers weighing 270 that run a 4.6

Getting to the CWS with a lineup that collectively hits slightly better than Andrew Stevenson, with less power.

It brought dominant pitching back into the game - just like the Major League Baseball...

It's much closer and better to MLB and minor league instead of this weird video game aberration where anyone in your lineup can jack it out...it reminds me of Little League World Series before the moved the fences back.

A CWS shouldn't have 62 home runs - (record?) like it did back in the 90's. That was ridiculous...and that's not baseball outside of the roid era.

A win is a win right now. I don't care if we win with walked players and no hits at this point.

Next year they are making the rims the same width as the basketballs, and the Final Four court will be 250 feet long

The game the other night was fantastic, except the score. You don't have to have fireworks to have a great game, and you don't have to be some self styled purist to enjoy it.

If the guys would hit the ball on the nose, they would score plenty of runs. They didn't last night because they weren't hitting the ball squarely, not because of the bats.

Maybe we should do away with kick off and punt returns. Hell, fade routes and go routes for td's should automatically be brought back out to the 10 or count as 3 points.

Any time the running back breaks the third level it should be a dead ball.

While we are at it, lets make basket ball goals a foot higher and move the 3 point line to half court.

This new ball park is huge and not conducive to hitting home runs. So many hard-hit balls that would be home runs in most parks are caught. The hitters may need to go for line drives and hit it where they ain't.....just get on and move the runners.

Your argument is pretty bad.

It's more like -

Maybe the goal posts were ridiculously wide compared to the NFL and we realized we made a mistake and to make football similar to the Pros we are narrowing them to normal width.

Ala what they did with college football in the 90's.

Did you watch the game tonight - there were several balls that were crushed and should have been home runs even in pro ball. The new bats and this huge park allow rag arms like the UCLA pitcher to control great hitters - that's not the way the game should be played. If a pitcher makes a mistake and/or a hitter crushes the ball, then it should be a home run, not a fly ball that dies on the warning track.

No it's not.

In your premise, college ball should be more like the pro's, which is totally flawed to begin with. A VERY small percentage of college athletes make it to the pro's. if anything, you just proved my point.

But that wasn't even my argument. If its about being fair, and leveling the playing field, it's still a bullshite argument, because everyone has to use the same bats.

If its for players safety, maybe so. But it's still bullshite. Move the god damn fences in 15 feet to compensate. Home runs are part of baseball.

The problem last night was LSU batters chasing high fast balls. The bats cut down on the ridiculous number of home runs, and the ball is probably more to blame than the bats. But, you can still score 8-9 runs a game forcing the pitches to be honest. LSU didn't do that last night.

I thought the game was entertaining myself.
