The vast majority of college players do not have an NFL career. How many star college players never amount to anything in the pros? There’s a long list of Heisman winners.

If you want to discuss the loopholes of NIL and if it’s getting out of hand, that’s fine. But there is no debate that it’s 100% fair that it exists.

The intent, - correct me if I am wrong is to address the issue of money needed to attend college that scholarship money doesn't cover and monies that were deemed "illegal" to "give" to student athletes by the NCAA

There is no "intent." The Supreme Court found that student athletes have a property right in their names, images, and likenesses that they are entitled to monetize if they so choose. It wasn't set up for the purpose of assisting them with anything. They were being denied a property right that everyone else outside of NCAA athletes could exercise.

Yes it does belong to LSU. You know professional athletes can't even do commercials in their team jersey that aren't official NFL, MLB, NBA or NHL sponsors right? Same applies here. The player is selling his own personal name, image & likeness, not the university, school colors or school logo. Again it has nothing to do with the school. I take it you haven't even seen Brian Thomas Jr's Neighbors Federal Credit Union commercial.

The intent is to let this kids profit from their fame

Bryce Young is and was going to be the QB for the most prominent team in the country

That’s worth something.

90% if fans can’t name the players who signed this week. The Intent of NIL wasn’t for high school kids to get paid to play at certain schools

What is fair about Oil men in Texas having extra cash to make ridiculous deals so their Proud A&M team can finally buy a championship?

85 scholarships everyone gets...that whole equality thing so we have a shot at parity in CFB

recruiting is recruiting

buying is buying

we've fought long and and hard even harshly punished some schools like Miami and SMU for paying players

now it's out in the open sold as free market "fair game"

the unintended consequences are really bad...

Exactly. I’m sick of players and people acting like they just play for nothing while being taken advantage of. A scholarship is worth a lot of money on top of being pampered like babies with access to nutritionists and all the good food and supplements needed to be in tip top shape. They have lavish lounge rooms where they can play games or do whatever the hell they want. It’s no one’s fault but their own that they refuse to take advantage of said scholarship. The education they could get from that is worth far more than any NIL deal they could get even if it was just something in money management so they wouldn’t be piss broke after five years of being out of the league.

Not when it came to being able to profit off their own name, image & likeness. Now they can.

Why the frick are you obsessed with other people's money? If a business or sponsor decides they want to pay a college athlete to advertise for their business, then so be it. And the college athlete has every right to earn income off their own name, image & likeness if they chose to do so.

Yeah, it's not like some of these kids aren't play nationally televised high school games. Recruiting has become big business. These kids get a lot of attention in high school & on the camp circuit.

All you have to do is go look at a 4 or 5 star recruits social media page. Lots of people know who these kids are before they ever set foot on any school's campus. You should just STFU now because the more you talk, the dumber you sound.

Take it up with the Supreme Court.

Ultimately, your post reeks of jealousy. Sorry you had a 5.12 40 yard dash & couldn't bench press a sack of potatoes.

I think the said intent was to spread money from rich to poor without the un necessary illegal payments that had been happening

The unsaid intent was to funnel quality players to the big markets to defang the SEC

Well, I guess that's fuss isn't it/....Now they can and now it's created a lot more problems that are in direct conflict with college athletics. Now it feels like pro sports... why can't these players have agents? that's next!

I am upset because I like College Football and I know how this likely ends if it's not corrected in short order

Understood, I am just a fan, but is gratitude now frowned upon> Are you on board with the 21st century bullshite attitude..."pay me'"

I follow some recruiting but not like used to...

It's the lifeblood of your program... it is what it is

I don't care to look at a 18 year olds social page, you're not adding much here...

We have to think critically about what's really happening and why it's happening

it's about getting players on campus pure and simple

this deal stuff is a problem

OSU coach "the sweater" lost his job over a few autographs he covered up...

80 dollars a pop I think it was....

sure that's ridiculous...

let them do that

but 150K a year to 1 million, I mean come on now....
