Some of you need to call and set up an eye exam. This is NOT to knock any of our backs because they all have some very good qualities. BUT Jeremy Hill is at least as fast as an of them. Is at least as shifty as any of them. Has the vision capability of any of them. And he runs as hard as any of them.

Basically, he has all the qualities of a great running back, not a very good running back.Time will tell if I am correct or not...

He's fast, but he has the most important tool of all for a runningback, vision

Hill is good, but he has done most of his damage late in the game.

Hill is just a complete back. He can cut and find the hole, he has speed, he can block and he can catch

He's hungry. The bit of trouble he got into before coming to LSU was a wake up call. He's running with purpose.

Ware's vision isn't the greatest. There are times when he should cut back and doesn't. Hill has the vision to find a hole and explode thru it.

What did he do again? I remember him getting in some kind of trouble but not for what.

Probably repeating what most of you have said - he seems to have the best COMBINATION of skills and athletic ability.

Size
Speed
Strength
Quick Feet/Agility
Balance
Vision/Anticipation

maybe it's because there has been a lack of film on him? Defensive coaches can see tendencies and coach their team on them.

I was going to post something to this effect as a bit of a joke, saying the Rant was losing touch.

As much as people say they know exactly what play we're gonna run based on who's in the game... and there is at least a little bit of truth in this... there is a lack of film on Hill to know how he'll be used, so that is actually an advantage. Of course, that's starting to change now. But it is definitely true that he's not getting hit in the backfield as much as some of the other backs... especially Ware. I don't fault Ware; a lot of runs, it does seem like the defense has a clue and has two defenders in the backfield before Ware can even get to the line to pick a hole. This isn't meant as a knock on Hill either. He is showing good vision and, as we've seen in two games now, once he gets free, the defense has not been able to run him down from behind-- he's very fast for being a big guy.

I dont know if the numbers support my opinion, but Hills looks bigger, stronger, faster, and more explosive to me. I see Ford a faster outside threat. Hilliard looks as big, but not as quick or explosive as Hill.

You think Ware is faster than Hill?

I think Ware and Ford are faster and just as strong. Hilliard maybe a little slower but more powerful, but ive yet to see Ware Ford or Hilliard bust out longer and more consistant runs like Hill. Is it his vision and cuts?

Two things:

1) Ford may be faster but probably not Ware. As Ponamsky said on the radio, "I don't know how fast Hill is, but no one ever catches him."

2) Everyone has a pigeonhole when they are in the game. Ware is the slammer. Ford will probe the edges. When Hill is in the game (he has so little film on him) other teams don't know what to key on to stop. Will he plow the middle? Catch a screen? Run the stretch? Take a pitch? Pitch dive? A little indecision goes a long way.

"He runs as if people were chasing him."

Size and Speed/Agility/Quickness. Hill is the perfect size for a between the tackles runner but had the best balance of SAQ

This. IMO

I told my buddy the other day that it seems like every one of our RB, as great as they are, don't make a single cut. Ford....straight to the sidline and up. Ware...right up the middle and straight ahead.

Hill hits holes and makes cuts. As did Blue, but he's hurt. I miss Blue :nohomo:

Who cares when he plays? Hill & Blue are the most complete backs on the team. They are all good & each have their own stile. If out QB & OF line would improve, we could beat anyone. I just hope Les as them ready in 2 weeks!
