I've always been under the impression that a team is always a reflection of their coach.
Kind of makes you wonder when we have starters getting in fights every year, smoking weed, failing drug tests, etc. every year.
Outside of our supposed 'DBU' tag, our identity seems to be a lack of consistency.

Fair weather fan base and an idiotic and selfish student section that both portray lack of support for their "team"

If "freak" goes pro and someone picks him early, they are on crack. Don't think Collins is anything special either. If 5 star guys are leaving LSU early because they think it's worth being a 5th rounder, I don't know what to say. It's not happening anywhere else in the country.
Wasn't Florida pretty hot on LSU's tail last year? Not that they're great company to be keeping these days.
I will be interested to see what happens this year. If all of the guys rumored leave this time, it will be more concerning than last year IMO.
A year ago you had Mingo, Minter, Logan, and Montgomery who were all 4 years in the program.
Then Eric Reid who earned his degree and was drafted in the first round.
Also Brad Wing who it has been insinuated might not have been welcome back anyway.
Finally 2 RBs, which is a position I've never seen anyone suggest staying is a really good idea.
Simon was the only true head-scratcher of the bunch last year.
It's why LSU has been playing true Freshman so consistently lately. The coaches know its a fools errand to expect anyone to be a 5 year guy anyway. EGO is the only rumored guy this year who is a 4 year program guy. For that reason, part of me thinks we will be pleasantly surprised by a few returners.

Don't care about dominating. We contend for 9-10 wins. That's our goal.

For the most part, Keys Open Doors, I agree with you but again pointing out the Ole Miss game, there were some decisions in that game that may not have been "boneheaded", but certainly have you wondering. Such as the continuous throwind deep in to double coverage when it looked like we could run on Ole Miss all night. (Maybe Mett's decisions , I dont know ) Again, wasting time outs on the drive that we wasted a time out to decide whether to go for it or not on that 4th down.

Faulk was an even bigger head scratcher than Simon in my opinion. I have no clue what that guy was thinking.

Yeah, the Ole Miss game was the one for me as well, but I have to think the decision to keep locking on to Landry and Beckham and throwing them deep balls in double coverage as to be on either Mett or Cam.
Definitely doesn't seem like a Miles gameplan, does it?

I don't expect to see a regular cheer section that never says anything negative about LSU's football program but it is a bit discouraging to see our fans run down the coaching staff so regularly around here.
We're talking about a guy who wins around 80% of his games in the hardest conference in the United States. He's brought in two premiere coordinators and a top notch recruiting coordinator. He's not Nick Saban but Saban has had some incredible bounces go his way in the last four years (losses in November and the benefit of the doubt compared to other teams with the same record).
Appreciate what you have and realize LSU's football program is doing very well instead of complaining it should be even better. Alabama hasn't dominated the SEC in recent years either. They have exactly ONE SEC title in teh last four years and have frequently lost important games at the end of the year when it should have cost them more dearly than it has.

We need the formula to the motivation and cockiness that AU seems to have!

Good call, completely forgot about him. I guess because he wasn't able to play in 12 much anyway.
Regardless, there has not been an absurd number of 3 year players in Miles' time at LSU IMO. I don't really think of a RS-Jr. leaving as a true "early departure." Or at least I think the coaches shouldn't be planning on anyone being in the program for 5 years.
Simon, Mo, Fualk, Peterson, and Brockers. Is that it other than the RBs? RJF?

Les gets all those players to come to LSU brah. We had an undefeated regular season recently and are an elite team every year. THERE IS ONLY ONE NICK SABAN. GET OVER IT.

Agree 100% with the OP. This is the LSU of new, 10-2 don't cut it anymore. Sorry, go be mediocre somewhere else.
