What is the definition of mediocrity in the SEC?

I can't help but be extremely upset that we are not going to the Sugar Bowl. I am devastated. But I look back and think that a 9-3 record is what I predicted...so I guess I shouldn't be all that upset. We HAVE to get a quarterback to compete at a higher level, meaning national title.
But back to the question, is 10-2 mediocre? Does 11-2 and 10-3 have that line of mediocrity drawn in between it.
Alabama was supposed to have a dynasty going, and they are a 3-loss team now.
Florida was a powerhouse, and just got demolished 31-7 by FSU and is 7-5.
Think of the SEC Title trips the teams in the West have taken recently. LSU is right where it needs to be...and hopefully we are looking up to another opportunity to win the conference next year.
So...are we slipping? Is 10-2 where this team should be? Was next year our year to be back anyway?
I am thinking all of this is just life as we know it in the SEC.
...damn I hate losing.

Stream of consciousness?
Anyway, no a 10 win season is not mediocre. Mediocre is Florida/Georgia this year.

I dont think anyone is pissed about the record.
It is the way our team played especially lack of development on the offense, crazy playcalling and struggling against mediocre teams (Ole Miss, Tenn and Florida) that is driving people crazy.

quote:4-4 is average. 3-5 is mediocre. LSU has been mediocre once in 10 years. Above average the other 9.

Devastated?
I'll bet you are distraught if the coffee is cold, horrified if the bacon is too crisp, or catatonic if the toast is burnt.
Can you say "Drama Queen"?

2008 8-5
2009 9-4
2010 11-2 or 10-3
This looks like the definition of not slipping to me.

We have the same record as in 2007 and lost to better teams this year. Going into 2007, most people thought we were 1 of the top 2 teams in the country.
I'm always disappointed after a loss, but overall, there is no way this season is disappointing or mediocre.
I'm not saying that this team is as good as the 2007 team. Rather, the fact that they are not as good and ended up with the same record is the point.

Ole Miss over the past ten years.
Georgia the last two.
South Carolina before this year.

Don't be an idiot...you know what I mean. If I were in Korea, I would be feeling some sense of devastation in that sense of the word.

10-2 in THIS conference is hardly mediocre.

This team is 3 lucky bounces from being 7-5.
#1 UNC - that was PI on the last play. That could've easily been called and we would've watched as their running back trucked it in for the win.
#2 Tenn - If the number of men on the field is correct, we lose.
#3 UF - How many times will that bounce perfectly into Jasper's hands?
Thank goodness for this luck. If not, the poor offense would've cost us 5 losses.
I'm happy as can be about a 10 win season, but this could easily bounce the other way like it did in 2008. Hell, we got lucky in 2009 too. Does Miss. State ring a bell?

This team is 2 unlucky bounces from being 12-0
#1 Auburn doesn't pay 200 grand to land a JUCO QB
#2 Karnell Hatcher doesn't decide to take the night off.

bullshite. The way the offesne played against Auburn, they probably could've beaten us with Caudle.
Arky didn't win b/c of Hatcher. It was bad playcalling by the DC and a terrible offensive performance. Besides, Arky made so many mistakes and still won by 8 pts. They should've blown us out. The score was definitely closer than the game was.

No but our play this year sure was. We are the worst looking 10-2 I have ever seen in the last 40 yrs. Thats ok though, I'll take it!

If any LSU Tiger fan thinks a 10-2 season is mediocre, just imagine being a Vanderbilt or Tennessee fan.

I think it is UK football.

It just seemed to me an illustration that your silly point could cut both ways.
It's odd that you can't see it.
