keep all season predictions on a 12-game regular season.

10-3 can mean either 9-3 with a win in a shitty bowl.

Or 10-3 can mean 10-2 with a loss in a NY6 bowl.

Those two 10-3 seasons are very different.

Okay. Guess the "you mad bro" thing ALSO went over your head. This is getting cringeworthy.

Not really.

Bowl games happen.

Like 7-5 is bad

8-5 is better than 7-6 though.

then why fire miles??

We fired Miles for three reasons:
1. He refused to change
2. The admin succumbed to the Rant portion of the fanbase
3. They thought they were getting Herman or Fisher

As much as it infuriates you, Coach O is getting 2017-2019 absent an unmitigated disaster. There are several reasons as to why:

1. Doing so would be an admission that the initial hire was a mistake ans since the guy doing the firing would be the guy who made the initial mistake, he's not going to do that.

2. There are normally growing pains in a regime change and three years is a sufficient time to work that out and reveal what you have.

3. No reputable coach is going to sign up to replace Orgeron if the admin doesn't give him a fair shot. Three years is the over/under for a fair shot. See point 2.

Given this, it would be nice if the fanbase would quit the incessant whining and let the season play out.

Coaches with a winning record against saban-

0

Coaches with 2 wins-

Urban Meyer
Gus Malzhan
Hugh Freeze
Les Miles

Stop setting the bar at consistently beating Saban and enjoy the ride.
O has the personnel to beat anybody, but don’t expect them to beat everybody.
Have fun, get drunk, and scream “geaux tigers!”

Good point. Objectively, that's what LSU has done-
removed a coach who'd beaten Saban (and Meyer) multiple times, thus establishing that he COULD do it, and thus was expected to keep doing it.

Replaced him with a coach with no track record of success (Orgeron).

A 9-3 season was a disappointment under Miles. A 10-2 season was boring, and depending on final standings, could still be bittersweet.
Under Orgeron, 9-3 is pretty good, and 10-2 would be great.

Maybe that's what Alleva and the admin figured... we could go cheap and still hang around 9 wins, with lowered expectations from the fans. Win/win in their books.
Or we could go much higher price, bring in a big name, and the most likely occurrence would be a repeat of Miles: gonna push for 10 wins, but still not going to unseat Saban and Bama.

We're talking about maybe 1 more win a season, drastically different fan expectation, for a significantly higher salary, and still odds are we're fighting for 2nd place.

Don't look now, but Mississippi State, Troy, and ND already proved that for the first year

BS! Money talks and the rest walks.

It probably would be easier to get a guy to replace a coach who won nothing than replace a NC coach.

At this point, everyone is second fiddle to Saban and Bama. With the playoffs now, it is almost impossible to keep them out. If they get in, most likely they will win. If not for an incredible performance by Clemson a couple of years ago, Bama three peats. I don't see anyone out there that would leave their job to come to lsu that could contend with Saban. Dabo and Meyer are the only ones I see contending with him now. Not sold on Lincoln Riley yet. Could turn out to be Mike Archer. Don't think Jimbo will pan out. He had one great year and the rest okay for FSU standards. He consistently lost games he should not have. Underachieved. Not saying I wouldn't rather him at LSU then O, but we are still second fiddle. Until Saban retires, that is where we will be.

Georgia fired a 10 win type of coach right?

Yes, after he had been there 15 years and hadn’t won an SEC title in 10. He also failed to win 10 games in 3 if his last 5 seasons there.

I would hope that is the standard. They would hopefully just let him go.

There is a zero percent chance Orgeron is fired if he wins 10 games three straight seasons, nor should he. I don’t think he will do that but some of y’all need to be realistic. Miles was on a downward trajectory and had been since 2012. I also don’t think he would have been fired had he merely attempted to revamp the offense. It was just a slow death.

We aren’t the only program with money and there is also more to a job than money. Look at some of the guys some of the blue bloods have hired over the years and tell me money is all that matters

Us as fans need to come to the realization that until our compliance office Lightens up like Alabama’s it’s going to be hard to compete with Alabama no matter who the coach is. Because their best players will always be able to play it every game. Everyone knows all big schools cheat but Alabama cheats a lot more so they will continue having the best recruiting classes. Specially while Saban’s there and Emmert is in the NCAA Office

yea, but 7-5 would put us in a shitty bowl. Whether we win it or lose it, it doesn't much matter.

But 10-2 vs 9-3 is a bit different. 10-2 can get us in a major bowl. 9-3, not really.

Bigger difference between 10-2 and 9-3.
