remember, jefferson played 1 good half against arkansas and 1 good half against gt...thats about it

That's a pretty lame arguement. Against AR, the offense was so limited it was pitiful. Once Jefferson knows the offense, he will shine.

Against GT, the playcalling in the 2nd half was awful.

Jefferson obviously needs work on his deep accuracy.

If Lee wins the job though, more power to him.

Then he'll start? Just as Jefferson will if he beats out Lee. Do you understand how this works now?

I personally like Jefferson better because he has scramble ability that Lee obviously didn't show last year.

That being said, if Lee beats out Jefferson in spring or fall practice, it will be for one reason only.......he improved tremendously with his footwork (movement in/out of the pocket), and showed signs of making quicker/better decisions with the football......things that you'd have thought Crowton would've done a better job of teaching during the course of the year.

I wish both QB's the best of luck in their competition for the job next year...for now, I give the nod to Jefferson for 2 reasons....(a) Lee lost the right to be #1, and (b) Jefferson won the right to be #1 due to their actual play on the field.

and proves throughout the spring and fall practices that he is the better QB?
MY guess would be he would start at QB, be 2nd team and jeff 3rd team??? does it matter who starts and plays just as long as we when, is that not the point of playing for a championship, winning with what you have.

With JJ at the QB we have a shot at a Top 5 offense in the Nation next year...Why people don't wanna recognize it is beyond me....

Miles knows this also...It's a no-brainer..

This board will go absolutely apeshit. And if Lee goes 60 of 60 with 30 TDs in the first 5 games, this board will still be littered with threads about how much he sucks and how Jefferson should be the starter.

And if he kept it up, eventually this board will be full of nothing but people who always thought he should have been the starter, and not one person on the board will ever have been one of the ones that criticized him.

Imo, it would bode extremely well for our future, because I expect Jefferson to be a helluva QB next year. And if we have someone who can beat him out, they should be REALLY good.

it seems that people think lee isn't any good. that is completely untrue if you noticed the games he played in he looked very bad at first and then when we were down he began to look like a super star. look a jefferson in the previous games that he played in .he threw the ball in the dirt and was rushed to do something with the ball on every play until we got behind and then he started to look great. the ark game when we were behind he all of the sudden started playing like a 4 year veteran and we went ahead in the game but we stopped the play calling and went back to the same old thing and quit moving the ball and let them come back to win the game. look at lee's games in auby, troy and the others it was the same thing. the only thing that was different in all of the games was the play calls. both lee and jefferson can run this team with the right play calls and i hope miles uses both qb's in every gamebut just don't let the other team know who will start in each game.

I doubt that many will actually kill themselves. But I am pretty confident that several posters here (among the LSU fans) will be pissed every time LSU wins with Lee at the helm, and will be watching every play hoping for him to screw up. So many of them have long since proven that them being right is far more important to them than LSU being successful.

2nd half play calling @ Arky was an embarrassment.
So approximately 25% of Jefferson's total resume is totally excused because you didn't like the playcalling, but a grand total of 7 plays out of 8 games by Lee is absolute proof that those plays were 100% his fault and that he cannot possibly ever be a good QB?

My god you people are beyond close-minded. Once you make up your mind about something, there is nothing in the universe you will not spin, ignore, or flat out make up to cling to your knee-jerk decision.

Imagine someone suggesting in 2005 that Tony Romo would be a better QB than Brett Favre in a couple of years. Or imagine someone in 1997 telling you that Kurt Warner (the guy bagging groceries) would be the NFL MVP and Superbowl winning QB and Superbowl MVP in the next couple of years.

And yet y'all don't even blink when you claim it is absolutely impossible for Jarrett Lee to ever become even a good QB.

Lee will never, never, never start at QB, unless Miles is forced to. You can pencil him in the 3rd string right now behind JJ and RS. Guys the dude thru 7 pics for TD's. Other bad throws ( particularly to the TE) could have been a quick 6. Seven times, count them, seven times, Miles and Crowton and whoknowswhoelse sat down with the boy and said, "You can't do it!" He did it once more, twice more, etc. Each time the advise was louder and higher pitched. The dude did not learn and will, definitely will do the same. And again. And again.

You think they wouldn't still be bitching? 60 of 60 with 30 TDs isn't likely, but neither is Lee beating out Jefferson. But as for the point I was making, I don't think I'm exagerating. Some people on here would still be bitching about him.

We're definitely fortunate to have 2 pretty good QB's. While Lee threw many Interceptions at the wrong time, he put up outstanding numbers for a Freshman and I'm willing to argue w/ anyone who thinks that a 3rd string Freshman QB w/ those numbers is bad.

Ha, I hear you. I'd prefer Jefferson, but Lee's a pretty good QB as well.

Anything can happen in the Spring. Keep in mind that Lee has the most experience. Jefferson only played 2 good halves . We will find out by the Florida game who is the best QB. Not taking anything away from Jefferson but Georgia Tech and Arkansas' defenses are crap. All season we complained about the poor defense and how people scored all over us, that is pretty much what we did the last game. GT's defense is garbage.
