What have we done in the last two games?

To think we will blow out SC. Is it just wishful thinking at this time?

This board fricking sucks
Posted on 9/13/24 at 10:21 pm to lsu4life77
No one is calling for LSU to “blow them out”
Posted on 9/13/24 at 10:32 pm to lsu4life77
The three letters on the side of our helmet = blowing out South Carolina

Who the frick said that?

Won a game, and lost a game. I mean shite, why not go into the game tomorrow pumped up and excited? I know I am.

Top notch analysis, this is why I subscribe!

Stinking up the field v Nicholls is as lame as it gets. Any kind of win v South Carolina, even by one point in OT, would be a major accomplishment for this LSU team at this point in time

Nothing really to judge the team either way like every team outside of Texas or Georgia. Tomorrow will give everyone a better idea of what kind of season LSU will have.

Cause this board is full of weak-willed dudes who would stay down in a fight if they ever got knocked down.
The fact that the LSU football team would dare go into another battle with confidence is foreign to them.

Mistakes were made on both sides, and LSU got some bad breaks and USC made some crazy plays to win the game. If 2 or 3 balls bounce a different way, we likely win. But we didn’t, so who gives a frick.
However, the phrase I kept repeating to my son and Dad was “this is some high level football being played in Week 1 between what appears to be 2 pretty damn good teams.” And the sentiment was echoed by a lot of talking heads, most of them with no skin in the SC games. Jimbo said it was the highest level of quarterback play between any 2 guys in the country in Week 1, especially because it was only Week 1.
And we held a Lincoln Riley offense to 20 points with 8 seconds left before they busted one up the middle for the winning TD. They still “only” scored 27. But with our defense being in disarray leading up to the game, us not capitalizing/the football turnover gods not looking down on us, some missed non-calls by the refs, and 2 very uncharacteristic false start penalties by Big Will, and 2 even worse ones by Lacy and Burns, I thought we played well overall (for a 1st game against a good opponent) and came away very positive about how I much I think we can get better, how much higher out ceiling could be than I thought (we aren’t going 9-1 the rest of the way, but I think we can beat any team left on our schedule).
Unfortunately, the Nicholls game showed that we can probably lose to a couple more teams than we thought we could heading into the season. That’s why this game IS so pivotal. Because not only do we not know what LSU is/can be right now, neither do they. We run the Cocks out of their home stadium 40-17 just after being lead into it by College Gameday, and I think everybody is looking at us differently, the players get some swag and juice back before surely hosting Ole Miss at 4-1, coming off a bye, in a matchup of against 2 potentially top 10 teams, both with still the playoffs in sights?
If we win that, we are right back in the thick of it. But that Ole Miss game matters a LOT less if we can’t escape SC tomorrow. And a potential 10-2 season look a lot more like 8-4. I think both the players and the coaches are aware of this, and we’re gonna come out and dominate and recapture some confidence and momentum.

I think people are somewhat overreacting to the Nicholls game.
We have a new defensive coordinator who was obviously experimenting with various personnel groups and called a very vanilla game, besides the long run after halftime, we held them to 2.5 yards per carry on the ground. They basically dinked and dunked on us to extend some drives so it felt a lot worse than it really was.
LSU basically treated that like a preseason game.

A lot of people really are. I think a lot had to do with still being so hurt from the USC loss that we’d all been waiting for for the last 8 months.

I obviously agree with all that. We’ve seen a ton of turds laid against bad teams between 2 “real” games. I do think, that it opens up the possibility that we may just not be a consistent team this year. And though we’ll probably have a couple of nice wins this year, if we drop one to Carolina, or Arkansas, or A&M, or, God forbid Florida, a 10-2 team could turn into an 8-4 team with the quickness.
I think we spank SC tomorrow. But I understand the feeling of trepidation of some fans who just don’t know who we are or who we’re gonna be this year. Which is fair. Hopefully we are in the process of alleviating some of those 12 hours from now.

Also, I think people felt like Nicholls was worse in a way because we couldn't/wouldn't run the ball.

It's a very similar feeling as going to State last year at 11AM, a game they ended up dominating.
I think this team is very similar to last year, likely 9-3 in the regular season. Will have to get some really good bounces to make the playoff.

You goofballs that are basically "wishing" for the LSU football team to fail freaking suck.
Go away.
Go away.

I haven't seen any real fans calling for a blowout. Most people think we are 7 to 10 points better......we will see. I am here and among the SC fans and there isn't a lot of excitement from them....they realize it will be a tough game to win.

you are talking to a person (don't know if guy or girl) that is from the Administration. He/she is here to be positive about BK and the coaching staff.....until BK tells him/her not to be. You don't have to believe me.
