I am sure that you werent terribly upset when you leaped over UGA. Like I said, I am not saying LSU wasnt deserving, just saying the whole thing was a farce. If we are ranked higher one week, meaning the voters feel we are a better team, and then we dont even play and are on the outside looking in...it doesnt make sense for us to have been ahead in the first place. It isnt a knock on LSU, it is a knock on the system.

Seems like every year at this time for the last 2to 3 years, Bama wins their first 3 or 4 games and they start drinking the koolaid and think that they are back....well this weekend will be your first challenge...as far as comparing yourself to LSU, we just beat a team that bama has beaten in what 5 Years!

greatest thing ive ever fricking heard. if lsu was better and deserved the trip to the nc game, then they should have been ranked ahead of us when the season was over. this was where most ppl had their problem, although we dont argue that lsu deserved it, just that the system was incredibly flawed.

as for the other problem, everyone already thinks uga is incredibly overrated anyways (like an idiot). the most overrated team IMO is the Missouri Tigers. They will lose twice this year in the regular season and a third time in the big 12 championship (unless ku gets the bid )

Anyone who denies the fact that Alabama looks good right now, as does LSU, is completely ignorant. They have accomplished basically the same thing this year, so I don't see how you can tell one team to pipe it until they accomplish something.

I personally respect both Alabama & Georgia and anyone would be a fool not to. However Alabama IMO has not earned the right to run their mouth about comebacks. As one of the most storied programs in NCAA football, they certainly deserve respect, however it is an accolade which is constantly earned "as the Bear might say". As stated in "Saving Private Ryan",Ya gotta earn this! You have a team on the rise, but you ain't there yet! Rest assured, we will be waiting patiently for you in Tiger stadium!

That kind of reminds me of Georgia. They will lose 3 games this year too, if they even make it to Atlanta to play LSU.

I agree that in College Football, unlike the NFL, team makeups change every year and should be treated as new teams at the beginning of the year.

However there is, an external factor viz, the credit that is given the Coach/College which results in a higher ranking till proven otherwise. So until and unless LSU/Miles proves themselves to have a horrible team they will be thought of and probably are better than 115 other teams.

There are some exceptions to this - some coaches and schools e.g. ND, Michigan, Clemson(/Tommy Bowden ) who get a mulligan every year whether deservedly or not.

Fortunately for us we don't have to rely on such crap and are truly worth every cent in our credit.

So, you don't think our win at a neutral site against a team that walloped you by 3 touchdowns, with our starting quarterback out for the game, on the heels of a devastating loss to Arkansas, and with ESPN reporting that same day that our head coach was leaving, could legitimately have changed the mind of someone who might have thought Georgia was better the week following our loss to Arkie?

As games are played, they add to the body of evidence available to voters. This is bound to change their minds, or else they're not doing their jobs. Why is it so hard to believe that voters could legitimately have believed Georgia was better, then saw what we did in the SECCG, and changed their minds?

And why was it that you were on the outside looking in????

If you had taken care of business, and gotten yourselves in a place to pick up ANOTHER win... then you would have kept your spot in the rankings (or more likely moved up)

More wins= higher ranking!!

The truth about last year is that there was probably about 5 teams in the SEC that cold have beat OSU.

I agree Scoop. I think that's why there definitely needs to be a playoff. Heck, you've got 5 SEC teams ranked in the top 10 knocking each other off, while the Pac 10 has 1 highly ranked team and the Big 10 has no highly ranked teams. We won't even mention the ACC and Big East. And while I believe the Big 12 is the second strongest conference, there aren't as many great teams in that conference as there are in the SEC.

I think Alabama/Georgia will be a great game. I look forward to watching it. The SEC is showing its worth and Gameday may be at more SEC sites this year than all other conference sites combined.
