true but look who you replaced them with. Pelini and Linehan. Not murders row exactly.

I’m not trying to make an excuse I am just generally curious.

What sort of effect did having these coaching searches so late compared to everyone else have in those two getting the job?

I didnt realize covid was localized to Louisiana and lsu is the only school dealing with it.

I'm sick of this argument. We've still had more talent than any team we've played. Not to mention many players actually getting far worse from last year.

The main issue that no one is talking about, is Coach O got divorced and has his mind on other things

#1 We lost about 30 players from last year's team to the NFL, graduation, the transfer portal, and Covid opt-outs.

#2 It looks like we've hired the wrong Defensive Coordinator to follow Aranda. Pelini may right the ship at some point and get the D to playing well, but through 4 games... he has NOT. Our defense has been atrocious.

#3 Complacency. The new cast of Tigers didn't understand how hard the climb to the top was or how long it had been since LSU had been there and from the looks of what I see on the field.... there are a lot of details and extra work that's been missed.

#4 We're low on scholarship players - 70-72 I think. That's 13-15 players under the NCAA allotted limit of 85. Let's just say it's 13... how many more "difference makers" could we have with 13 additional players... 2? or 3?

#5 The Covid lockdown has made this season's football season SLOPPY. The NFL is sloppy and teams in the SEC look sloppy... at least to me.

We were going to lose Aranda at some point anyways to a HC job somewhere. He had been a DC at a Power 5 school for 7 years and his results speak for themselves.

Guy came from the NFL and probably wanted to go back

His extension that LSU gave him he had an opt out for any NFL OC job. Brady did what he had to do, and Aranda couldn't pass on a chance to coach at a Power 5 school.

Is there a problem with the offense? We are averaging 42 points per game over 4 SEC games using a first-time starter and a true freshman at QB after losing the greatest QB in LSU history, two of the 5 greatest WRs in LSU history, one of the best RBs in LSU history, a multiple year starter at center and our best O lineman.

On defense, the result has been poor thus far. We lost 4 starters from the team last year that would be on the line in a 4-3 (Lawrence, Chaisson, Fehoko and Shelvin), including probably the most important piece in a 4-3, Tyler Shelvin. We lost a linebacker that is already one of the best LBs in the NFL, we lost a Thorpe winner at safety and a senior CB starter all while we had no practices and are trying to install a completely different defense. I think we were all living in la-la land when we were thinking that the defense wasn't going to miss a beat. We need to see improvement in the defense.
