What Booty did cost us was the opportunity to sign two outstanding college quarterbacks.
So was that really Booty's fault, or was it the coaching staff? Dinardo could have told Booty "no thanks" and taken Eli instead (though I honestly believe that Eli had no intention of going to LSU). I would tend to believe that Dinardo set the program back moreso than Booty.

Wasn't it Saban who recruited Eli? Now, I can see what happened with PM being true but with EM not so much. I'm pretty sure David Cutcliffe being HC at Ole Piss made it an easy choice for Eli, being that his dad is a legend there. Also, the Manning's loved Cutcliffe after he was Peyton's OC at Tennessee.

Peyton manning and Eli were NEVER coming to LSU regardless of what quarterbacks we had on the team. You're kidding yourself if you really think there was a chance. Just because Eli attended one of our summer camps doesn't mean he ever considered LSU. Their dad is an Ole Miss legend, do you really think his sons would attend LSU?

I did see the post by CPT 8ch ... and I disagree. Booty didn't cost LSU the chance to sign anybody. If anything, the coaching staff fricked that up ... not Booty.

You're right. Booty came to LSU under Dinardo (1999), but Dinardo was fired that same year. Saban recruited Eli.

quote:Those who think Jarrett Lee is "scum of the Earth" and those who think Josh Booty is "scum of the Earth" are in fact themselves the same "scum of the Earth" among Tiger Fans. Both of those young men did more and gave more for the university and specifically LSU Football than virtually all of the fans who so thoroughly enjoy trashing them. Both of them made many mistakes, some of them huge and some with terrible impact. But both of them made those mistakes because they put themselves on the line and gave their effort when the program (that is, their coaches) called upon them. And both of them have done more to win games for LSU than pretty much any dozen posters here combined.
Not really any different than Jarrett Lee. So how is it that JL is scum of the earth, but JB is remembered well?
So for those reasons, and many more (to say nothing of basic decency and common sense), all those calling themselves LSU fans who who spew such venom and vitriol at either of those young men (or pretty much any other LSU player in any sport; all save Cecil Collins, Lester Earl, and maybe a couple of other true "gems") are in fact demonstrating their own lack of character or worth far better than they could ever hope to impugn the character or worth of their targets.
Personally, I am grateful to both these young men and would be proud as a Tiger fan to meet either of them, even though neither rates anywhere near the top part my list of favorite Tigers.

I think of Warrick Dunn and all he as done for others who seems to be the complete opposite of this person.
This was the difference between Booty and Ro......

Personally, I could care less where Josh Booty or any of the other Booty's are. They really did not do us any favors.

Booty was older, cocky, self-entitled, had a little bit of money, what not....it's not that far fetched

It was the other crap the coaches allowed him to do that was out of the question for the other players. Showing up to team practice in his personal car rather than riding the bus from the stadium, didn't have to stay at the team hotel the night before home games, didn't have to have a roommate on away gams..etc.
This.....
as some of you know I was part of the program in my college career.....the above listed are the most accurate....and I'm not bashing Josh...hell I stood in a couple weddings with him the last couple years....but this is for the most part accuarte to be fair
but to answer the original question...he travels a bunch for his work....not sure exactly what he does.

Since you were part of the program at the time, do you think Josh Booty was responsible for setting the program back 5 years like some on this board are stating?
Posted on 6/10/10 at 2:33 pm to TT
I hung out with him prior to the NFC championship. I didn't mind getting his sloppy 5ths.

While Josh was very arrogant and unpoopular towards the end....not at all
Let's not forget also Rohan was a very good college QB and came to his own later in his career.

Did he ever play baseball at LSU? I know he got drafted by both sports. I was like 5 at the time so I wouldn't know.

Saw him at Monday Night Trivia at the Chimes about 2 months ago.
I also saw him at a regular Season Saints game this past season and for the NFC Championship game versus the Vikings.
If he doesn't live here he's in South Louisiana quite often.

I was here in Scottsdale a year ago and was wearing LSU gear. One of Josh's buddies came up to me and we got to talking. He is now selling some kind of sports clothing. I believe he's in so cal. Still a big LSU fan.

He's dating a girl I went to high school with. Our 10 year reunion is next Saturday, maybe he'll be there.

BS. Yeah, he deserved to ride the pine after UAB but when Rohan went down that year and he had to play, he came through.
