It’s boot up having multiple meanings. It’s like Lion Up for SLU.

Boot up Means fo me
Pride in the state
Put your boots on and go to work everyday
Lace them up, we going to war, dominate the opponent

Lion up for me
Pride in Southeastern
Be a king like a lion
Dominate you opponent
Put in the hard work to be the best you can be

It means to put your boots on to go to battle. It has a double meaning because Louisiana is gaped like a boot .

It’s similar to Vanderbilt’s “anchor down” or Falcons “rise up”.

I like Boot Up better because to me it means: Strap on your boots and get after it.

It’s charming because Louisiana is referred to as a boot. It’s fun because of the multiple means and the state pride it implies. The phrase as turned into it’s own thing and tends to motive players and fans.

Turns out LSU fans are not on the same page for what it means and where it comes from.

Is this a serious question? Are you mentally retarded ? Sheltered? Finished grade school? Have you never heard the term MAN UP? Cowboy Up? Do you know that Louisiana is shaped like a boot? This has to be one of the dumbest posts I’ve ever read on here, and that is quite an accomplishment.

I am not going to lie, I loved this as a kid and would say boot up or shut up often, but for some reason I never correlated this with wades "boot up".
