COVID/NON-COVID
W / W - Sept. 5 UT-SAN ANTONIO (Home)
L / L - Sept. 12 TEXAS (Home)
W /W - Sept. 19 vs. Rice (in Houston – NRG Stadium)/
L /W - Sept. 26 OLE MISS (Home)
W / W - Oct. 3 NICHOLLS STATE (Home)
L /L - Oct. 10 at Florida
W /W - Oct. 17 at Arkansas
W /W - Oct. 24 MISSISSIPPI STATE (Home)
Oct. 31 Open Date
L / L - Nov. 7 ALABAMA (Home)
W /W - Nov. 14 SOUTH CAROLINA (Home)
L /L - Nov. 21 at Auburn
L /W - Nov. 28 at Texas A&M

6-6 / 8-4

Non Covid it could have been a lot better with no opt outs and the rent a wins. Pelini would still have been our DC so a couple losses just for that mistake

Roster as set with Covid

It would be a lot less positive around here right now going into the off-season losing 3 out of 4.

Reasonable assumption would be 7-5. If the Florida shoe fly happens again 8-4.

Does Chase, Vincent and Shelvin play?
If so, and also assuming Brennan would have stayed healthy and had he got injured Max Johnson would have been backup

I'll go 9-3 or could even bump it up to 10-2
with losses to Fla, Bama and one more loss to either Texas, Auburn or A&M

8-4 had players opted out stayed out with additional loss to Texas and either Auburn or A&M

Likely 4-1 going into Florida, if the shoe still happens, you're 6-1 with much more confidence than we actually had playing Bama with a full crowd.

Hate to be a homer, but 11-2, 10-3.

As planned w no opt outs? Maybe 9.
Adding Rice & Nicholls get us 7. I think we’d get Ms State back and edge A&m in a close one.
This is also saying Myles doesn’t get injured and plays the full season since we wouldn’t have played Mizzou.

Sept. 5 UT-SAN ANTONIO - W
Sept. 12 TEXAS - toss up
Sept. 19 vs. Rice - W
Sept. 26 OLE MISS - W
Oct. 3 NICHOLLS STATE - W
Oct. 10 at Florida - W
Oct. 17 at Arkansas - W
Oct. 24 MISSISSIPPI STATE - W
Oct. 31 Open Date
Nov. 7 ALABAMA - L
Nov. 14 SOUTH CAROLINA - W
Nov. 21 at Auburn - L
Nov. 28 at Texas A&M - W

9-3. This also assuming there are no opt outs and the coaching staff has an entire spring and summer to install new systems and train players appropriately.

That's about what I expected in February as well. I still don't think this team was that bad. The defense was atrocious but I think so much of that just had to do with the lack of appropriate preparation time and the ever changing roster turmoil. I think the defense would have been middle of the pack under normal circumstances instead of basically dead last-- which probably means Pelini is still the DC today. I think the offense would have been similar to what it was anyway but I think that was plenty good enough to beat all the bad teams with a middle of the road defense. It would have been nice to have had Chase and Marshall for every game though. Although having Brennan healthy for every game might have been even more important.

If there’s no opt outs, coaches and players have a normal offseason, and Brennan stays healthy I really don’t think 9-10 wins was out of the realm of possibility

Now think about if these guys played the whole season

Myles Brennan
Jamar Chase
Terrace Marshall
Arik Gilbert
Tyler Shelvin
Marcel Brooks
Kary Vincent
Stingley

This team wins 9 to 10 games

Regular season with no opt outs, I think we beat atm pretty easily. They barely beat us with the personnel we had.

It's really tough to say, considering all of the drama of 2020 but I think we would have been 9-3. 8-0 going in to the Alabama game.

Sounds good but losing 3 of our last 4 would have made it feel like a miserable season. In this meaningless year, I'll take upsetting #5 Florida and winning out.

Kary Vincent and Shelvin would’ve resulted in wins vs state and mizzou for sure

Stop it. We're sounding like the Aggies.

They still claim they were the "best team in college football" in Manziel's freshman season.

8-4

We would have beaten Miss. St. but lost to Texas. only because the texas game was early, and they wanted us bad.

Prior to the season when the 10 game schedule game out, our win total O/U was 6. Were a yard away from a push.

You put ole miss and florida as losses for COVID lol. We played the COVID season and we beat them. Probably safe to say we best then regardless also I think.

If Brennan doesn't get hurt, Chase and Marshall play the full year?

10 wins, baw.
