Planin and simple

FEAR. Please dont put me in the position to lose this game.

What if Jasper had called up and said "Green blocked a kick before, lets not try a FG?" or Scott called up and said "Gary. dont forget I fumbled in the red zone this yr, you netter give the ball to KW?"

Some of you ppl amaze me.

Humility, objectivity, and putting the team first instead of his individual stats.

How can anyone second guess his spectacularly correct decision?

Some people hate JJ and wish for him to fail. When he succeeds they try to spin it into a failure. I refuse to speculate on the reasons for their vehement dislike of JJ but it's not hard to imagine what it might be.

They fail on a grand scale. 5-0 and number 4.

edited out unnecessary and inappropriate byproduct of hung over frustration

That is crap, IMO. It shows maturity, and a team player. Exactly what any coach would want on a team. I'd love to hear what you'd say if he'd thrown an interception at that point in the game.

The guys stood in there, made play after play keeping us in the game and this is what people do? Question his leadership?

Fear! Wow! Some people are so clueless! The fear comment comes from someone who thinks we are too hard on JL(thread on board today, FWIW) from last year and he didn't even play yesterday! I wonder what kind of AGENDA this person has!

I'm gonna have to agree that was a comment made from fear. The problem is JJ has now put a big question mark in Crowton's mind.

I didn't want to pass the ball in that situation and throw a pick that would keep us from getting points.

Look at his own words: "I didn't want to pass the ball in that situation" He wanted the game in someone elses hands.

because we were running the ball better, that's leadership to know that i don't have to do it by myself

all week ya'll said jjj needs to learn to get the ball to the playmakers, and he did and he was right as Chuck proved

he will never be good enough for you

I don't know about you, but that pretty much speaks volumes to me. Like someone already posted, what if Scott had said,

I didn't want to carry the ball?

That whole series was really bizarre.

At 2nd and 5 on the 33, it's a 50 yard attempt.

You've got 52 seconds, one time out and five to go for a first.

It's true, JJ had been sacked and Georgia was not in the box at that point, they were playing pass.

You don't try to get it closer than 50??

Is Jasper just absolute MONEY from 50????

Prove it, other than sheer speculative reading something into his team-oriented comments post-game after one hell of a victory.

He may simply have been giving props post-game to his senior RB who'd had a tough go of it this year to that point, as well as his sometimes struggling offensive line ... who all came through when it counted most.

Neither I, or you, nor anyone else outside of that sideline and locker room know anything to the contrary based on anything but fanciful seculative musings on the Rant. Period.

Y'all can spin that quote anyway you want, but a quaterback at any level of competition that is truly a team leader wants the ball in his hands in a win or loose situation. An I don't mean just handing it off.

Don't mean to knock JJ because I think he played a good game and has shown continuous improvement from game to game, but that statement has me concerned.

Bottom line is the team is 5 - 0 with JJ at quaterback this season and I hope the trend continues.

Why's that? Enlighten me.

While I don't like him saying that he was scared to throw a pick, I do like the fact that he has enough belief in his teammates to call their number. The reason I think it was a good call is that we were already in FG range and a sack would have taken us out of it. Considering JJ had been sacked 6 times already and UGA was likely to be sending the dawgs after him, I thought it was a nice strategic move. I never thought we would score on the play but getting a 7-15 yard play was a distinct possibility. At that point we would have likely milked the clock down for a 41-yd FG at worst (had we only gained 7 yds). Obviously things worked out much better but running the ball there allowed us to take the catastrophic sack out of the equation.

saw this on ESPN, I kinda was a little disappointed by it. Who wants to hear their starting QB saying he doesn't want the ball in his hands, with the game on the line, because he is worried he might throw a pick. I like JJ & I think he is doing some good things but that statement makes me doubt his "moxy" a little. Hey, maybe he is a fortune teller & saw the future, Scott busting it for 32 yrds & a TD. Ok, I'll take a QB who can see the future over one with moxy....TIGERS WIN TIGER WIN TIGERS WIN!!!

No, you are wrong.

Jefferson, the QB on the field, is in the situation; who has a better assessment of the conditions on the field?

Football has a degree of chess playing in it that is hard to discern sometimes. And the fact that JJ is showing this RISK MITIGATION prowess at the age of 19 impresses the heck out me!

He 1) assessed the situation 2) weighed the risk/reward scenarios, and 3) recommended a solution to the coaches, who 4) accepted it.

And he was right. And without that decision LSU perhaps doesn't beat GA, between the hedges, not since 1987, to go 5-0, 3-O in SEC.

IF JJ had thrown a pick in that situation then these retards would be out in full force for JL.

what if

What if, what if, what if, what if ... what if JJ was a 19 year old phenom who had no on the field learning curve to conquer...

...what if, what if, what if, what if ... what if JJ stumbled and went down on an ankle tackle instead of scrambling for 26 yards...

...what if, what if, what if, what if ... what if Chuck Scott got stopped on the goal line on the first 4th quarter LSU TD...

...what if, what if, what if, what if ... Chuck Scott hadn't regained his balance and run through the lower leg tackle attempt by Curan...

...what if, what if, what if, what if...

So what if? How's about what isn't for a change? What isn't is 4-1. What is is a team managing to find a way to win.

What is is a team who shows its fans it ain't gonna quit, come what may, warts, flaws 'n all.

What is is a team who collectively still has lots to work on to get clicking on all cylinders...

...Meanwhile, what is is 5-0 by hook or by crook ...

...What is is another week to work on deficiencies and execution with yet another victory during the sometimes painful learning process ... albeit ultimately successful when the last second ticks off the clock.

That's what IS. Today, the morning after, at least for now, screw what if...

Let me start off by saying I like & respect the job JJ is doing. He needs to get rid of the ball a little quicker (sometimes) & make better decisions (sometimes). His line doesn't always help him either. However, he is only 19 & I really think he was feeling the pressure in the 2nd half of this huge game on the road.He prob. was a little anxious about making a mistake that could cost LSU the game & it sounded like that is what he is telling Crowton. If i am Crowton in that situation I dont want the young man throwing it either if he just finished telling me he is unsure of himself.Just run the ball, pick up a few yards and get a closer FG attempt. But i guess people hear what they want.It is not such a horrible indictment on JJ.
