Me, either. While I am starting to see glimmers of life in the defense and running game, I still think we are a year away and then we might be breaking in a new QB (Nuss is doing well enough to go after this year, IMHO).

And we still don't have defensive backs, at least starting for LSU, that would see significant playing time at other schools. The youngsters are showing some promise, but, again, I think we're a year away, at least, from seeing signs that this is an average/above average SEC defense.

I'm still very positive. There's noy a game on our schedule we can't win. The problem is there is several that we can most definitely lose. With a little luck, I could see us slipping into the playoff.

Next year could be rough on offense, with new QB and major losses on OL. If Nuss goes pro, which I think is highly likely, offense will take a big step back. Defense will improve and be better though.

The USCw game and the South Carolina game cancelled each other out.

We should not have lost the USCw game, the universe gave us a make up game with South Carolina. That’s how I see it.

That being said, we started that game 0-17. We didn’t do great against UCLA and they are pretty bad.

We’ll get blown out at least twice this season and probably three times (OU, Bama and Ole Miss). shite A&M might beat us by 2 TD’s.

LSU is a MEDIOCRE football program currently.

Only the OFFENSIVE PASSING GAME is really good.

Offensive Line is the most disappointing overall based on expectations. They're poorly coached and prepared.

I think we are a year away from being in serious contention if Nuss stays. Questions as the QB and OL but we will return starters there too.

It doesn’t make a difference who the coaching staff play. It’s clear the coaching staff is going to continue to play legacy guys, which is respectable. We need to be free of the ghosts of O. Besides, even if they didn’t, our young guys don’t have the experience and reps to make a run.

I’m a huge critic of CBKs third year deal, but I will say I think he was just a year off.

I'll let you know at season's end. IF, they miss the playoffs, BK seat will be very warm in 2025. Lots of games to be played. LSU has no identity as a program and lacks leadership. BTW, I never put any stock into the chatter about the OL. Remember, the so called experts said it was the best in program history. So far, they have not lived up to that hype. The Tigers should absolutely steamroll S.A. Saturday. Will it happen? Who knows.

Finally, voice of reason. Ole Miss has played NOBODY. You forgot to throw in Duncan Hines Tech, because of the cupcakes.

I’m not sure if it’s the NIL, transfer portal, or playoff system.

Definitely not the playoff system as its the only thing keeping postseason hope and interest alive. NIL issues are too often linked to portal issues. I could give a a shite what a kid is getting paid as long as he is here 3 yrs. Bottom line, the portal is what is destroying college football.
