why is it so hard to believe that Blue may be a better RB than Ware or Ford? just because he wasn't as highly rated by the recruiting services? What else could you people be basing it off of?

I'll believe it when I see it. I don't doubt he has talent and can do a good job and never said otherwise.

Ford will transfer.........just a prediction!

I hope he does and it breaks my heart.

I know him personally and have been looking forward to this year (actually to last year) since he was a sophomore in high school.

To see him ride the pine with no chance of playing is pretty disheartening to me.

I haven't seen him but once since he went to LSU but he was still upbeat then - almost two years ago.

The kid is a fantastic person - polite, clean cut, dedicated, and in high school he was the entire team - with a little help could have led us to a title.

I haven't seen where he has fouled up at practice - only that he 'doesn't know the playbook.' I find that hard to believe, but don't discount it entirely.

However it is hard to reconcile that situation with his performance in the spring game.

I is even harder to believe that Blue is better than him to the extent that as a true freshman he would 'earn' to play before Ford.

I had never heard of him before he entered the game last week. Still don't even know where he is from. I certainly didn't see him do anything Ford couldn't do as well or better.

Color me confused.

But now I want Ford to play some football - if not here, then somewhere else.

So just because you know ford means that he should play over blue because you don't know who he is? Great logic.
I dont get lsu fans. Everyone complains when they think miles doesnt play the younger players and when he does people complain. I don't know how anyone can complain about the running game yesterday unless you just hate miles and bash everything he does.

The position coaches make the personnel decisions. This is according to Ensminger on the pre-game radio show.

Players earn this "tust" in any number of ways. If I were a coach I would play a kid that I "trusted" would not blow plays, miss assignments, etc. over one that had a great high school career.

like when they fumble twice in one game?

hmmm - I think I devoted a few words to say that from what I know of Ford he was not benched because he started a fight at a bar, or rolled some drunk, or got caught with drugs.

I also mentioned that he was a stellar performer in the Spring game - an conclusion that almost everyone agrees with.

I also opined on the fact that Miles doesn't have a track record of starting freshmen ahead of more senior players.

SO - I stated that I was confused by the current situation for the reasons stated.

Yes - I do question Miles rationale, and IF I knew what the decision was based on, I might even agree with it.

IF Ford is really number four on the LSU depth chart, then he needs to transfer somewhere that needs his talents. And LSU should have the best backfield in the nation.

I would like that - LSU with three running backs who are clearly better than what I know Ford can do.

I agree that Shipley is where he deserves to be.

I haven't SEEN anything that says Blue is better than Ford.

Blue is from Hahnville. He was a pretty good back in HS last year, can remember one game where they down with little time left and he basically willed them to victory, carried a whole drive by himself and scored a TD on a 4th and about 4 after breaking 3 tackles. I listened to it on the radio, announcers were in awe.

That being said, I have been looking forward to seeing Ford play with more anticipation than anyone since Kevin Faulk. I know you can't live off what a kid did in high school, but for pete's sake, the kid broke all of Cecil Collins' rushing records and we all know what Cecil could have accomplished had he stayed out of trouble. I am gonna be very disappointed if Ford doesn't start getting some carries that matter within the next game or two. I refuse to believe that Blue has learned more of the playbook than Ford given that Ford has been there a substantial time longer.

Keiland got jacked around for playing time (my opinion), God forbid the coaches find a way to screw up Ford's career and make it a two-fer.

well since blue fumbled near the end zone he should be no. 4 on the depth chart this week. I too believe ford should get some carries and ware is like a bigger version of shep, he is a versatile player that we need to figure out how to use effectively in this offense.

THE TALENT IS THERE ON THE OFFENSE AT THE SKILL POSITIONS. qb and ol, not so much.

The reason I have been so anticipating Ford at LSU is that a coach who coached both Cecil and Michael, told me that Ford was a better athlete than Collins - and that was when Ford was a sophomore. I followed Ford very close since then and he NEVER disappointed.

Three years ago, Leesville (4A) scheduled West Monroe (perinniel 5A powerhouse) for a game in West Monroe.

We almost won that game - again pretty much all Ford by himself. WM was keying on him every play and he still broke tackles and dragged them towards the goal line. He must have carried the ball thirty times in that game.

The kid is a gamer - unless something has taken it out of him since he came to LSU.

That would indeed be sad. I want the kid to play - somewhere.

i have not read most of this topic, but what i have read is inaccurate. blue was used as a situational back. by the goaline to give room for punts and move the ball away from danger, in the redzone, and on 3rd and short situations. he did a good job. he converted a 3rd and 4 on a 6 yard carry, a 3rd and 3 on a 5 yard carry, and a 6 yard td run. he is the only rb to score in the redzone. the only other redzone td was a pass to russ shep.

he was in before ford because of the situations that came up. ford is a feature back and is competing for time with ridley. there are not too many guys who converted 2 third downs for us last night. also he converted in the redzone. a lot of promise for blue and all you stargazers are ticked off. blue was a stud just didn't hear about him when he was a freshman or sophomore in high school. that makes him no better or worse than anyone else.

ford will get his carries and will be as dominant as anyone we have, but blue did his job well and will continue to serve that role.

TRUE DAT - I think we can win with mediocre QB production = just not with below average QB production.

I saw those runs, and they were pretty much gifts from the OL. I am pretty sure I could have made it through those holes - (although I might not have been able to get up afterwards.)

I'd like to see him break some tackles or run over someone like I know Ford can do before my confusion over the order of selection goes away.

Let's be clear - if Blue is better than Ford, I do NOT begrudge his playing. But that should be pretty evident in the coming games. There needs to be some outstanding play by Blue to erase the expectations a lot of us have from Ford - either that or seeing Ford NOT be able to produce.

Let's play the best players ==== no problem with that.

did you read any of that post? he is used in situational opportunities. i seriously doubt you would have converted those runs. why is everyone treating this kid like shite? some have never heard of him...who cares?.......shut up. the kid has come in to LSU and practiced one summer and has earned a spot on the field. why is that his fault?

ford is a feature back........competing with ridley. blue is a short yardage back. he is not flashy....he gets in there and runs hard where he is supposed to run. he will get you those 5 yards. he will plow his way forward. very unselfish, disciplined runner who can also block. he has a role that he has earned so far. ford will have to beat out ridley and murphy. he had the chance to do so and hasn't so far. he will get more carries and be an excellent back, but lay off of blue. kid is just doing his job, which most people don't seem to understand.

Ford was a little cocky after the spring game. Too cocky from what I heard. Hes learning a lesson, and handling it pretty well, from what I hear

take it, FWIW
