LSU wins a championship and in couple of years the names JJ and Lee will rarely come up. All they will remember is the championship. Not the drama.

Well, they won "a" championship last night. Now it's time for them to win "the" championship.

Let us all get real. I love JJ and JL, but they are average at best. This TEAMis great. Murray would have won today if he was LSU'S QB. Stop the QB crap. It is what we have. I love / hate them both. The team is what it is . Fricking awesome. Bring on ALA or OSU. Who cares, I do not, this TEAM is awesome.

7 straight times 3 and out , just wanted to point that out.

Actually it was 8, but JL should have gone in after 4 or 5 rather than waiting.

Really ! What coach in his right mind would continue having a QB that was struggling in completion and couldn't execute a first down in that long of a period. Only Les Miles would be that stubborn. And only because he has full confidence on his defense. If we didn't have a defense to truly depend on, this would have never happened.

I know. I have been pimping that SEC title all week... Seems some of our fans forgot that Nov. 5th did matter.

Truth is, as much as I pulled for JL up to Alabama, then JJ after, we would be at least 12- 1 going to the SHIP. LSU 27_10 against Bama, or 42- 24 OSU against our 3rd team late, whoever starts or kneels.

thats what happened last year. Our defense was not as dominate as this years so JL went in at times last year to bail out JJ's arse and miles and help to win, or preserve the win in at least three games TENN, FLOR, ALA.

only difference this year JJ was suspended first 4 games and our defense is dominate.

Yeah, the O line has been getting a pass tonight in order to put more blame on JJ.
Not that JJ deserves any praise.

O line can take a lot of the blame for the running game.

JJ had time to throw and he was late, under threw, or over threw multiple receivers. Several of those passes could have been TDs or 1st downs had they been on target.

I honestly think had the 2nd half not started the way it did with LSU in short field position Miles would have let Lee take a series or two.

With Miles as the coach though I never know what to expect, but from his half time speech it seemed he was very into the idea of letting Lee come in. Had LSU had 80+ yards to go for a TD we might have saw Lee

I think the better question is what has JJ done other than run some successful option runs to deserve the starting QB spot and get all the snaps.

Can you imagine where this team would be with a decent QB? We saw what it could be like earlier in the year when Lee was doing the job well.

He was terrible dude get real. The JJ/JL crap only exists b/c of Miles, not b/c of fans. He treats them differently, regardless of performance. If you don't see that you're blind.

Not saying he was playing lights-out or anything, but didn't seem like he was getting any help from the OL. And he had at least 1 pass that was dropped that would have been a 1st down.

Attackers attack. Apologists makes excuses. Same ole, same ole.

But basically, JJ was having his usual occasional spurt of complete ineffectiveness.

As the announcers so politely said, Lee is LSU MVP. He stepped in amid all the turmoil, and played admirably. Kept the team undefeated, and beat more top ranked teams than JJ. When teams stacked the line he made them pay with Randle and Beckham getting the ball in stride often picking up considerable yards in space. He was adept at reading defenses and picking up alternate receivers.
JJ, he is not the smartest cookie on the block. His ability to read defenses is zilch. Can he hit a receiver on the fly? Usually the receiver has already run his pattern and if JJ can throw a catchable ball, LSU's receiver get crushed by the D. Rarely any extra yardage.
Who is to deny that Randle and Beckham are excellent receivers?
I still cannot fathom on why Miles has removed these two very capable receivers from the offense by playing JJ. How much better is LSU's run game with receivers the Defense has to respect?
There is most definitely something else going on with Miles JJ & JL.
I feel so sorry for JL and do want to thank him for the great job he has done for the LSU team this year.
As far as JJ, I have to suffer through watching him for one more game. And I am quite thankful I will never have to watch his sorry arse again.

And JT is still the most obnoxious, shite-stirring bandwagon-jumper of all time. It happens at the end of every fall like clockwork--despite being completely clueless on the sport in general, he will find whatever the most active bone of contention amongst the fanbase is, and start his usual irritating schtick.

The day after the Ole Miss loss in 2009 ( LINK):

quote:

Yes, Miles won a championship 2 seasons ago. It was great, I loved it. But any objective evaluation of the 2007 season clearly showed just how much luck played as a factor (admittedly, luck is always needed to win the MNC). Anyone with eyes has seen the COUNTLESS AND CONTINUAL terrible decisions/deer in the headlight from Miles over on the sidline from DAY ONE.

You don't build programs by "going for the win", by calling plays of dubious potential outcome, nor from being the "mad hatter". You build programs based on the construction of rigorous processes and decisions practiced and painstakingly honed day in and day out.

Just like with successful investing, rational processes, inputs and decisions over time will win out over shoot-from-the-hip, range of the moment "play to win" nonsense. Football involves a lot of luck and chance which can, on any given Saturday, overshadow these processes. But in the long run, the numbers don't lie - the disciplined and the intelligent will win out over the rest. Great recruiting and great talent will certainly win 80% of the battle for you. But brains AND brawn will easily beat just brawn over the long run.

I can't think of two people who more typify the 2 different approaches than Miles and Saban. This is why you understand just how lucky you were when you squeak out improbable victory after improbable victory. And this is also why you don't read too much into a random loss to ULM. And most importantly - this is why you don't reward luck with fat contracts when it's crystal clear that the decision-making is abysmal.

The day after the loss to Arkansas last year ( LINK):

quote:

Are we incapable of admitting that process matters?

What if LSU went 13-0, but needed a last second dumbass miracle on every single game - including ULM and the like? Sure, you'd be happy with the MNC, but would you really argue that the coach was good?

Then coming back full circle to today:

quote:

IMO, this JJ/JL crap is WAY overblown. Stop assuming you know something that Miles and the staff don't know. Take your 13-0 and STFU.

Almost every tiger fan on the planet was bitching and for good reason

There was a legit concern to think that we had been Larry Cokered

ETA: And I also think it's quite funny that the rant he went on basically describes this year's team.
