The girls played hard. The season won’t be defined by 1 game. She wouldn’t pick any other group than the one she had. Congrats to ULL - they earned it. The seniors had great careers and are leaving the program better than they found it. They’ll take a couple weeks off then start getting ready for next season. The goal is OKC.

I’m guessing that covers what she said.

She would be lying if she said this. It's not the players' fault, though.

You’ve missed quite a number of my posts, including 3 today. But why is it your concern going out of your way questioning people over matters not your business?

PC was on YouTube with Beth Ali and Karly. Beth's opening commented a bit about the fact that UL and LSU have been paired the most times in Regional Play more than any other 2 schools. (Personally, I think that would be to LSU's advantage, but I guess not)

Also, said we were definitely trying to intentionally walk the batter. ADMITTED THAT BERZON PROBABLY HAS NEVER HAD TO DO THIS IN HER CAREER. WE ARE GOING TO HAVE TO WORK ON THAT MORE IN THE FUTURE.

Also said she didn't see what Clark did to get ejected BECAUSE SHE WAS WATCHING THE BASERUNNER WE HAD ON AT THE TIME

She said, expect me back and we’ll be just good again. Since that what most Softball fans want - a good person who coaches a good softball team.

I watched the press conference. For the first time, she looked incredibly broken and shaken up the entire press conference. Was tearful throughout the entire thing. She was struggling pretty bad the entire time trying to keep it together.

She mentions returning the core for next season but I did not get a sense of confidence in fixing the issues that the program has in that press conference. She seems unsure of how to fix it (at least with the staff in its current state)

I wonder if she fears/knows something about her future and that of her staff.

I’m struggling to see Woodward fire her after recently extending her and giving her a raise to 2026… but Woodward wouldn’t surprise me with anything

I get the vibe the “band” (Howard and Lindsay) will get broken up for the sake of her job. She has no where to go at this point. The program is progressively getting worse and have now reached the point of two straight post seasons not advancing to supers. The pep rally speeches about being young and getting better will no longer work. She got away with that the last few years. She needs help and the things she needs can’t be provided from the staff she has right now. OU and Texas are on their way soon, things will have to be getting moving and fast

It doesn’t matter to most fans how the softball program is viewed. The only opinion that matters is Scott Woodward’s.

True. And I just don’t get the vibe that SW is going to fire Beth. But hey, I figured this team would reach a Super then lose. Then I figured, SW would go into observation mode a season or two to see how the program responded with Oklahoma and Texas joining the SEC. Further slippage and Beth and the whole staff would be gone.

But after this disaster of a Regional, I think Scott’s hand is forced to give the ultimatum: “Shake up your staff. If not, make OKC next season or you AND your staff are all fired.”

But hell, if Scott fired Torina I wouldn’t be shocked and if Scott did nothing, I wouldn’t be shocked. I think it will be somewhere in the middle.

But Beth has felt the last 3-4 years like she owns the job and is untouchable. Unfortunately a head coach and her staff is ultimately a business relationship and part of being a good HC is unflinchingly making changes when necessary. Polian was Brian Kelly’s buddy. After one year, Polian was gone.

Beth needs the same mindset. But hey, Beth may be one of those executives who can’t function out of her comfort zone. Getting rid of her buddies and bringing in say, a disciplinarian hitting coach may make her so uncomfortable she’d rather lose her job than to not coach with her buddies.

Hell, if I had to guess I’d say Dobson and Leftwich get fired but no amount of action—or inaction—from Woodward would really surprise me.

If she knew how to correct the problems she would have done it already.

And she still thinks that way, even after yesterday's disaster, she stated in the PC that she plans on being president of the seeding committee next season. That's her way of avoiding being paired up with the Cajuns again. She feels its not fair to the softball programs in Louisiana to eliminate each other every year. Tells me she's planning on still being around

She set on a bucket in the 7th inning with the season on the line while her freshman pitcher struggled to throw pitches in order to intentionally walk someone. According to her in the press conference they had never worked on that before and she didn’t think she had ever had to do that in her high school career. She set on a bucket looking scared and shocked instead of either putting in her 4th or 5th year senior pitcher or getting up and walking to the mound to explain what to do with her freshman pitcher and catcher looking lost. That’s inconceivable.

What do they do in bullpen sessions? All bullpen sessions should work a couple of pitchouts, and intentional walks.

“I should have gone and relieved my freshman pitcher after ULL started the last inning with back to back hits”

Naw, that didn’t get mentioned.
