It's a simple case of missing on a bunch of talent across the board, which is why I wish we had more information on who is scouting these players other than Jay. I'm sure he's not doing it on his own, but the number of missed evals that are currently on the roster is alarming.

Yes and it’s not just the everyday players. Look at the pitchers we got through the portal this year. None seem to be ready for even midweek games.

What coaches/staff left from last year?

Also have to realize, CJJ and LSU were in the regionals, super regionals, MCWS, and the championship all while the portal was open.
Surely this could have affected the recruiting.

All played for small schools
I think our season looks different if Carraway and Moore perform as was expected. I don’t think Yorke was anything more than a shot in the dark to be a lefty bat to push Pearson at DH.

You never know how a small school kid will perform on a bigger stage. This is part of it. But we have so many areas where we are playing poorly that there isn't a single reason. Cumulatively, we are not good enough this year. Luck is part of baseball, and ours has been bad so far this year. Can still be good in June. Time will tell.

Cooper Moore has been good.

It's one of the main reasons it was ranked the number 1 Portal Class for this year.

Really? You don’t think a 6ft 300 plus pound player isn’t a red flag. That dude is a walking red flag
