what is it about Brian Kelly that tickles your fancy? was it going 9-3 and losing to Louisville, West Virginia and Pitt in 2007? or going 9-3 and losing to OU, UConn and VTU in 2008?
what is it about Brian Kelly that makes him so attractive? He is a football coach in the Big East, what does that mean exactly in the grand scheme of things?
+1

Also a bounce or two from 6-5 or 5-6.Sabanistas never give Miles the benefit of the doubt,so its only fair that the 2004 season is looked at again.
Oregon State. 3 missed extra points and we win 22-21 in game ONE ?? Talk about lucky and why was that team so flat for game one, like in 2002 ? Easily could have been a loss, and honestly, should have been.
The Florida game was a gutty comeback, but as Miles bashers fail to give him any credit, its fair to say scoring with under a minute left to win 24-21 could have been a loss.
Troy. Oddly enough that same Troy the 2007 NC team played the year after its title year.LSU was never down 31-3,but they needed a late, late score to pull out a win.
Somehow the team barely beat a terrible Ole Miss team. That's 4 games right there that could have been lost that were won in 2004.
A mediocre at best coaching job,but he had long checked out on LSU before that season kicked off.
no no no we were undefeated, awesome and completely in love with St Nick for every second he was here and you TELL LIES

it has to be his 19-16 record at CMU that has them in love with Brian Kelly

IF, and I do mean IF, Miles left for UM, this is a guy I would like to look into.
I don't know much about him except his record at Boise State, but he reminds me of Urban Myer when he was at Utah.
JMHO.

what happens if he micromanages his OC?
what happens if he can't handle the media?
what happens if he can't recruit against the elite coaches of the SEC?
what happens if he puts his faith in the wrong DC?
what happens if he and his family are unhappy here?
what happens if he is in over his head?

This year we could be Easily be 5-4 Right Now, Miss St and UGA could be Loses if it wasn't for The Players Individual effort against State and a run by Charles Scott against Georgia ... The Coaching put us in that spot and the players bailed them out !!
why is it that anytime something doesn't work its the dumbass coaches' fault, but when something does work its the players bailing them out?

2.Rich Rodriguez - UM took UM from a team that skunked UF in a Bowl to a losing season, put in a offensive and defensive system that doesn't fit any of his personnel and has lost 5 straight Big Ten games this season and may be fired quote:
3.Brian Kelly - UCinn has never coached in a power conference and his entire resume is based on 9-3/9-3/and 9-0 in the Big East and 19-16 in 3 years at CMU
Davis is at a Basketball School... and doesnt have the recruits LSU can get ... who wouldnt have a nervous break down coaching the Browns ... and your point ??
Rich Rodriguez - Come on are we taking Apples and Oranges , The Players LSU has , to what Michigan was Left with ... The Guy is a Solid Coach... Les Has Talent that he NEVER lets Play Shepard(RB) and Ridley (RB) is Dam Good.
But we got slower one's Less likes better
1.C. Scott/Bigten RB
2.J. Jefferson/Looks like Aaron Brooks with Les calling the plays --- I think can be better, (Need to Learn to attack the Line when Running the Option)
**Pick any Upper Classman on the O-Line, They have Better Players Who are Not Seniors on the Bench.

No, but it is the fact that he took a team that had never won a bowl game to a 9-4 record(7-1 in conference) in just 3 short years, pretty damn good if you ask me.
And to think he had instant success at Cincinnati where in 2005 they were 4-7, and now his record there is 31-6 and in the discussion of a national championship this year at CINCINNATI of all places.
To say it's only because of a weak conference is foolish because he has the same difficulties as any other team in that conference in trying to win
And to say that he hasn't done it in a power conference is foolish as well because he hasn't been given that opportunity, but will soon..And then we will know more about him.

Not quite sure I understand your point. And, FTR, that's not unusual.

because he wants to be there. he turned down his alma mater because he didn't want the pressure and scrutiny of ARKANSAS. You want that kind of guy at LSU?

How would you have felt about Miles if he took the program that Saban built and put the TTU Spread in and threw the ball 60 times a game with Jamarcus? If Miles did that regardless of his offensive personnel or what it did to his defense? You want a HC that would rather lose with his system than play to win with another system until he can recruit to his system?

if he knew where to line up, maybe he'd get more touches. I'm sure that's Les' fault as well? A true freshman would NEVER have mental mistakes. Do freshman make mistakes in college football? That doesn't happen, does it?

1.C. Scott/Bigten RB
Even Alabama fans said Scott pummeled their defense. Well on his way to 100 yards. The only back that would have done so.

you need to go back and read the OP and try to wrap your head around the big picture of this thread.
before this season the biggest thing Brian Kelly was known for was Div II football success, turning around Cincinnati and interfering with a murder investigation

And there are people who post on this board who are so fruit for him they would cream their pants just at the idea of getting him back at LSU. Go figure.
