Simmons, but he’s only one man, and he can’t cover Chase, Marshall, Jefferson, Thad and Clyde by himself. Their db’s And linebackers are about to get exposed. If they can’t get pressure with 4 consistently, they’re dead in the water. We already know what Joe does against the blitz.

This is the key. If we can get favorable matchups vs their LBs, Nickel or Safeties in the middle, Joe will eat them alive. Look for CEH and Moss to be targeted a ton early until Venables is forced to adjust to protect the middle of the field. If he has to, then we start going after them 1 on 1 on the outside.

Their D timing their disguises to damn near perfection, messing up our rhythm.

Here’s the thing about that. The fact that we go empty a lot because it forces the defense to tip its hand has been covered a ton by sports media this year. Clemson bucks that trend and still tries to disguise looks vs empty sets. However, there is a big risk in doing that vs an offense that executed like we do. It puts your defense out of position at the snap and forces guys to have to rely on their athleticism to cover that ground quickly. If they aren’t perfect in execution and can’t actually cause a delay in offensive execution by confusion, then they are in no-man’s land.

I look for Steve and Joe to run more 5 wide tonight than all season to put additional stress on their D. If they want to disguise looks, they will have to be perfect. If not, Joe will make them pay for it and likely force them out of doing it.

This should be one hell of a chess match.

Yeah, that one real game they played this year... They will get punched in the mouth a few times and crumble.

As someone who’s watched more than one season of college football, let me help you out:

Clemson is currently 29-0. Their record over the last 5 seasons is 69-4. Neither is a characteristic of teams that crumble easily, regardless of conference.

Their QB is talented and makes clutch plays. Has moxie.
Their RB is very good. Can really accelerate.

Clemson is a champion and have a number of top notch aspects, but those two guys have to ball out for them to beat us. We have too much for them to overcome and will finish this magical season!

That they might not leave in a timely manner after we rip their hearts out and shite in the hole left behind.

I posted this in another thread..

The ONLY thing I'm concerned about is the fact Trevor has never lost. He's always done what's needed to get the win, whether that's ball out versus Bama or play down to the level of UNC. He's found ways to get it done.

There's a chance we haven't seen his best yet.. He hasn't been tested on this level and everything says he's going to be up for it. If he goes incredible hulk and LSU gets a few bad bounces.. It's going to be interesting.

I'm saying 45-34 LSU.
