This is one of my biggest beefs with Miles. God knows how much talent has come to LSU and gone, but was mismanaged by our coaching staff.

The pro-set worked great when LSU has a quarterback that is cabable of making reads and throwing the ball.

This. 5 of the past 7 BCSNC ran pro-set offenses. Running a pro-set does not mean that you can't throw in some well-placed spread plays; i.e. jet sweeps, option pitch, etc. You can run pretty much whatever fits your players talents best from a pro-set.

Leonard Fournette has a legitimate shot at 1686.

I don't really have a preference between changing to spread which we have the players to run it or recruiting qbs that fit our offense. I just want leslie to have a fricking plan and follow it. We either transition to a spread power attack like auburn but don't run the hurry up, or we go get a fricking pro style qb that slings it all over. it is that simple

No it doesn't. There have been quick turnarounds with new offenses at a lot of places, even within our own conference: Sumlin at A&M, Malzhan at Auburn, Freeze at Ole Miss, even Bielma at Arky.

Yes, it takes a few years at some places to build roster depth with better recruiting, but it doesn't take years to install a new offensive system that can be productive. Just good coaching. And, oh by the way, the system has to be modified to reflect the talent that you currently have on the roster. Square peg/round hole doesn't work.

With the QBs LSU has, I would run some form of run-based spread like WVU ran with Pat White, what AU runs, Ohio St runs.

I believe that offense would generate a helluva lot more points than the shite we currently run.

If we had 2 pro-style QBs I would lean toward a pro-style system that utilizes 3 WR sets exclusively.

good and smart coaching, coaches seeing hey this player doesn't have the skills to run my full offense let me tweak it to help him. LSU doesn't do that, we have a jam the square into the round hole way of doing things.

Sure it does. One year doesn't make a "system." A&M's "system" shows how heavily reliant they are on the QB.

1) Pro Set is the way for Miles, especially since he puts lots of skill people into the NFL, which is part of his recruiting prowess.

2) He wants to avoid the turnover at all cost, which would say to change styles, but see #1, so never mind

3) He selects a QB that is compatible with #1 and #2 and who is a yes man, thus the struggles with QB's development, since they do not get groomed as needed to run an effect version of the Pro set.

4) We are stuck with it, with the hope that someone besides Jennings can sneak into the line-up soon, otherwise.

5) Expect continued anemic offenses unless we get lucky

Forgive me for butting in guys but the pro style offense works great, just look at Bama. You have to have execution from the QB to make it work. With better QB play you guys will dominate with LF and those blue chip WR's. So it is not that the scheme is bad, it is a QB that cannot execute that makes it look bad.

This shite has been beat to death. No sane fan wants to switch to a spread or hurry up offense. That solves nothing.

The scheme is fine. We just need it to be less predictable, add a few small wrinkles (jet sweeps, TE passes, RB screens, WR screens, misdirection), and a QB that can complete passes. That is literally all that's missing. Stop doing run up the middle, run up the middle, deep to Dural, punt.

A QB and less predictable play calling is all that is needed.
