What we found was "show up to wrigleyville about 2-3 hrs prior. " Heard bleachers are first come first serve once you get in.

Get to Chicago around 2pm on Thursday, Cubs game that night (bleachers), then drive up to GB Friday morning to get into whatever before game on Saturday.

BTW, Giordanos is definitely the place for deep dish in Chicago. The one just south of the river usually seems to be easier to get into at lunch, at least in my experience.

We're staying in Wrigleyville and heading up to Green Bay via limo on Saturday. gonna watch Vandy-USCe on Thursday, Cubs on Friday, and brewery tours at some point. Pipeworks, Half Acre, and Revolution are on the agenda.

still debating if son & I will go to cubs game, we did a couple years ago and getting on the subway were an adventure all by itself.

Not sure if the "adventure" can be attributed to directions, or anything else, but here's a simplistic route to Wrigley from your hotel:

- Walk west (against traffic) on Ontario until you hit State.

- Take a left (going south) on State until you hit the Grand Red Line station.

- Once in the station, take the Red Line towards Howard and get off at Addison, which is directly next to Wrigley.

- In all, it takes less than 10 minutes to get to the Grand Red Line station. Once on the train, I would expect a 15-minute ride. Off the top of my head, you'll hit five stops between Grand and Addison.

Scalping will be difficult but there will be some people, the box office might be able to help u out too. You'll be able to find tix, don't expect to be able to get a ton of seats together tho.

Pipeworks and Half Acre are my two favorite breweries in Chicago-proper. Although, does Pipeworks give brewery tours?

In addition, I would recommend going to Lagunitas.

Chicago traffic is terrible at all times of the day, if your staying in the burbs, look into metra. If your headed north from the north side it won't be horrible as I live in the north suburbs it's never quite as bad as heading west/southwest. But the game will end around 5ish I'd suggest kicking back and taking in wrigleyville festivities for a few hours rather than sitting in traffic.

Giordano's is solid, but you also have to include Lou Malnati's and Pequod's in the conversation.

This is kind of what I was wondering. I'm going to rent a car Friday then leave from Wrigley. I think I will park a couple stops away from (north) Wrigley so I can get in the car and go

Sorry, I might be a little lost, but are you staying in the suburbs? If so, you might even be better off driving into Chicago and parking somewhere along the Red Line in Rogers Park or Edgewater and taking the train (south towards 95th/Dan Ryan) to Addison.

Where downtown?

Unless you had a specific reason for driving, it would be easiest to hop a train and get off at Addison.

Red Line is pretty accessible anywhere in the Loop, River North, and Gold Coast. You can walk to a station and get on a Howard-bound train to Addison.

You could also take a Brown Line Kimball-bound train, transfer onto a Red Line at either Fullerton or Belmont, and get off at Addison.

In both scenarios, you avoid any parking. As I said before, though, this is all assuming you don't have a specific reason for driving.

No real plans for Thursday....Downtown Chicago and see what happens

Downtown isn't really the best place to go out. I'd suggest you hop an uber and head to Division and Ashland and work your way West. Probably 15-20 great places to drink/eat along that strip, and it'll be much more animated than downtown.

Smoke Daddy has great BBQ, Fatpour great beers, Bangers and Lace, 50/50, dive bars mixed in...lots of stuff over there.

Art of Pizza, but I don't think they deliver downtown.
