I agree with this. I'm not down on JJ and think he will be a solid player. However, if you watch the 2nd half of his two starts, I think there is cause for concern.

Chances of JL starting this year with a healthy JJ: 0%; injured JJ: 10%. Chances of JL transferring after this season 100%.

Glad you are staying positive on one of our own.

I think a more relevant and realistic topic should be percentage of snaps JL/JJ take this year.
Im calling somewhwere close to 50/50.
I dont care who starts.

I hope it's not 50/50. I want a clear number 1 for the season.

Agreed, JJ is a solid player, I think something will happen about mid-season ( JJ struggling in the SEC or getting injured) JL will get another chance and will run with it. I don't think Sheppard makes an impact at QB this season, maybe somewhere else on the field though.

Chance that Lee outright no split snaps wins the opening day starting QB spot? 1%

He may end up as starter, maybe Les crabwalks and does a committee this season or something, but doubtful Lee pulls out the #1 spot for opening day

obv that is best case, i just dont think JJ is that much better than JL to the point where JL donesnt see the field other than mop up.

I could be wrong, and one of the two could take off and leave the other one behind.. I just dont see that much seperation between the two.

And the struggles lee had against subpar opponents (tulane, troy and north texas) along with his record 8 ncaa pick 6's aren't.

i don't blame lee for not tackling any of the guys who intrcepted his passes.

i do blame him for NOT EVEN TRYING to tackle any of the guys who intercepted his passes.

NOT ONE SINGLE TIME did he EVER go after the guy.

why?
FEAR OF BEING BLOCKED.

the guy is AFRAID to get hit - miles knows that NOW. crowton and the team knew it last year.

lee will continue to excel in practices and scrimmages - he is a talented passer - WHEN HE IS WEARING THE GREEN, "DON'T HIT ME" JERSEY.

The reason JL threw all of those interceptions is due to his lack of concern. He just chucked the ball out there and had little care of the results of it. His interceptions for TD's coupled with the decline of the defense created our disappointing season. Unless JJ gets injured or shows the same propensity to throw int's for 'TD's, JL doesn't have a chance. In fact, I'd be willing to bet, the if RS develops and JJ got injured in the middle of the season, RS would start before JL.

Shepard does not have the arm strength to start against SEC defenses. He wont take over until his sophomore year, but he will add an amazing running threat starting this year from the QB spot.

Lee will get his chances in the first game J.J. is ineffective in, and I expect him to perform very well when he gets his chance.

Les should protect Lee by keeping him on the bench at the beginning of the season and bring him in if J.J. becomes ineffective when the Florida's and Bama's start taking away the things he does best.

We may have a young and inexperienced group of QBs, but they all offer something different and present a lot to prepare for opposing defenses.

I'll take that bet. How much do you want to put on it?

How is a QB gonna tackle a corner in the flats?

Go back and watch all those interceptions. Same plays that really shouldn't have been called to begin with. That's just my humble opinion. Crowton called them for a reason, but you have to get the feeling that every time he called that play he had second thoughts.
