Dumb, no. Sketchy in some parts definately. Try the Hampton Inn on St Charles Avenue uptown or the Best Western right next door do the Hampton. Both are reasonable and on the street car line so you don't have to drive to the Quarter.

Thanks I just checked it out and of course booked. We took way too long.

Sorry, that's all I got for your budget. The West Bank might be all you can get. Partying in NO and driving across the bridge is going to suck monkey balls.

Was hoping to be there for 2 nights(31st and 1st) but looking at these prices the 1st might be all me and my friend can get unless we get a nice little scratch off winner in the next couple days.

No doubt, but you will be arse-raped by NO cabbies. During special events they charge per rider, not the distance. Red hot poker in the arse.

After going to the Florida-LSU game this year, that would be a walk in the park.

Treme! Right outside the French Quarter and inexpensive prices!

And there's a great southern food restaurant around there.

Try the Drury Inn. I can't remember the street but it's not to far from the casino and aquarium. Nice pool on the roof with a pretty cool view. I paid about $100 a night.
