What a piss poor effort

I don’t mind losing but that what a shitty effort considering it was a rubber match against the #7 team in the country. Only run given up was on a routine ball that should have been caught by the catcher, seniors missing signals and we give our guy absolutely zero run’s.
Someone remind these damn kids they ply for LSU. Some of this sloppy lazy play needs to be rewarded with some time on the pine.

The ball didn’t bounce their way.
There was no lack of effort. Just didn’t go their way today. No reason to shite on them for losing on the road, by 1, to a top 5 team in the nation

Not hitting =\= sloppy lazy play. Hilliard was great and defense played well. The Vandy pitcher just had their number today. That happens.

How was it a piss poor effort? Their pitcher threw a damn good game. So did ours. I was impressed with Vandys defense. I was not impressed with their piece of shite field. They did catch some lucky breaks too but that’s the game.

Pitching dominated for LSU and Vandy...hell I expected it from Vandy; Gilbert was a pleasant surprise.
As for the mistakes - Hilliard (freshman) and Feducia ha a sign mixup and Cabrera (freshmen) had a base running error.
Happens with new players.

That is about the shittiest way to lose a freaking baseball game. Vandy didn't do shite, but LSU couldnt do shite about it either. One missed ball by our catcher was the diff in the game.

I’d say piss poor adjustments more than effort. When you keep swinging over curveballs maybe scoot up toward the pitcher in the box and catch the pitch before it’s at your ankles.

People say this every year. If they don't swing at first ball fastballs, people bitch. If they take pitches, people bitch. It's baseball and there are different approaches to different teams, games and pitchers.

Look, I don’t want to come off as shiteing on Hess but you can’t have your Friday starter giving up that many homeruns. Paul has to rethink his weekend pitching rotation and get Hess back to a closer. LSU had a shot to win this series.
As far as today, both pitchers were solid, just baseball fortune wasn’t in LSU’s corner today.
