To the W.Virginia posters on how they hang with SEC teams in bowl games: This game is in Tiger Stadium. Huge Difference.

I think preparing for the 3-3-5 defense will be a bigger task for your QB.A week is not much time for a QB who hasn't been that great at passing this season.

You mean our QB that runs on the edges ? A 3-3-5 is the wrong D to play against a running team.

With strong, good blocking WRs. I like this matchup.

Maryland has a running team and a running qb and had -10 yards rushing for the game-the second lowest total of the Fridge era at Maryland.

WVU's 3-3-5 stopped Oklahoma's rushing attack in the Fiesta. It depends on your personnel. WVU is blessed to have a great dline this year. Good luck trying to move them off the ball. While our oline is highly suspect, our dline is not.

Maryland was 1-11 last year and has a lame duck coach. Terrible comparison. That's like comparing you guys with Syracuse.

...and don't forget that the ACC is awefulthis season. That conference usually stinks, but it is really terrible this season. Bottom feeders of the ACC, like Duke and Maryland, would have a tough time competing in the WAC, MAC, etc.

I am not here guaranteeing a WVU victory or anything like that. I just believe that if both teams bring their A games it will be much closer than you think

Agreed.

If we get pressure it could be a long day for Geno though. However, Devine can break one at anytime; hes the X factor in this game. Those little dump off passes when Geno feels heat could be dangerous, someone needs to be on the midget all game.

Biggest problem for you guys is Coach Stew. Nice guy and good ol West Virginia boy, but hes in a little over his head I think. He should have been workig for Holiday...

That's what I was gonna ask anybody from West Virginia, We all know you tore up Georgia and Oklahoma, but can you honestly say you have anywhere close to the same talent from this WV team as those 2 WV teams? Not trying to flame asking serious question, to me it's not a realistic comparison or analogy.

The explosiveness on offense is there, just not the exact same without #5 running the show. Geno is a better passer and one of the calmest QB's I've seen even for a sophomore. I think if we find a rhythm and play smart we can move the ball well enough for 21-28 pts. We aren't the same team back then, it was run or done, now we can spread the ball around to 3 or 4 solid WRs, an elusive RB and a solid TE (who they never throw too)

I've watched a lot of WVU games over the past 10 years. They'll be ready for us and have played enough SEC teams lately to not be blown away by our stadium, size, speed, etc..

Anyone who thinks this is not going to be a game is mistaken. Can LSU win - yes, if they play well. Can we look bad and get smoked - absolutely.

Agreed. I've watched them play over the last 10 years too, and they're not to be taken lightly.

I think WVU's defense has close to the same talent as the 05 and 07 teams.

The 05 team that beat Georgia had a great oline. WVU has not had an oline like that one since-even the team that beat OU did not have a dominant oline.

Skill positions is close. Of course there is just no replacing Pat White who won 2 BCS bowls, 4 straight bowls, leg WVU to a top 5 finish and 3 straight top 10 finishes.

Geno brings a different element to the table though-a passing threat.

Why did Stew change the offense when RROD left? Maybe because he knew the chances of getting another P White to run it was slim.

the talent and potential on offense is def there, just comes down to coaching and our suspect play calling.

This might be one of the best WVU d's in a long time.

It seems like some people think WVU is just small and slow

thats always been WVU's football M.O, playing with a chip on their shoulder b/c they are always looked down upon or taken lightly.

Lots of our players are from the south and are still probably bitter some SEC schools didn't offer them a scolly or wanted them to play a different position

UNC's passing attack looked pretty good against that amazing D, . . . .see how that's not really relevant to anything

We made some poor coaching decisions.

You got beat physically.

See how one is more easily fixed than the other.
