1. Why was Helman in today after yesterday? Why was he in after the first error, or the second?

i’m not in any way defending that move. just pointing it out.

2. Pitching could have overcome if not for pulling a hot hand after 1 inning w a 1 run lead...so why did that happen?

opening weekend. vast majority of pitchers are going to be limited in length/amount of appearances early in season to “stretch” them out.
I personally think Vietmeier should have started 9th too since he threw so few pitches in his one innings though.

Seems we're in total agreement. Helmers at 3rd and pulling Vetmier lost us the game....100% on Paul and his decisions. As bad as Hellmers is, that one is somewhat more forgivable to me....he gave him another shot and pulled him when it was clear he wasn't getting it done. Pulling Veitmeir only down 1 was terrible. Get the damn W and give your team some momentum in their home opening series.

This team has talent, but Paul is getting in the way of it.....again

And not that many people care about college baseball on a national level. It’s the equivalent of college hockey.

Accepting mediocre results despite elite talent because... WHO ELSE IS OUT THERE?!?!
That's just one of the proven and well worn list of excuses hurled out by the "Mediocrity Loving Pump Nut Spew Crew."

It's way too early in the season, but you can bet your bet your sweet arse that Scott is jumping at the bit to make his first big splash hire and he full well knows "Who Else Is Out There." (Just in case the season doesn't turn out quite like most of us expect it should.

we have accepted this crap for several years in a row now. We do that because our ath admin would rather point backwards rather than looking at the reality of the present. LSU has been 'the' baseball school in America in the past. PM has slowly allowed that to melt away. LSU recruited because of that reputation. But now hs players have more good options, more good coaches, facilities to choose from....and because PM doesn't have the LSU baseball mystique any longer, he is showing just how average he is on baseball knowledge, strategy, coaching and recruiting. PM should have been gone 5 years ago. He is holding our program back tremendously, and our ath admin is too lazy to do the right thing and do what they finally did with LM. PM is LM clone in a different uniform.

Time for the excuses to rain down on those of us daring to question why LSU BB fans should accept mediocrity like losing to AF.
