I don't know about that. A good outcome doesn't turn a bad decision into a good one. But he knows his team so maybe it wasn't a bad decision.

Yep. Coach overthinking it and cost him the game. Had a dude out there dealing to the tune of a NO HITTER at 75 pitches and takes him out of the game.
