It's so much easier to blame how terrible it was 50 years ago than to look at the real issues of today, which are the absence of a loving family unit (no father in the picture, mom whoring around, nobody giving a shite about the kids while they're passed from one auntie to the next, etc.) None of that is 50 years' ago fault. It's that it's accepted as a way of life. But then turn around and blame the white man for what happened 50 years ago.

Typical ESPN bleeding heart bullshite. I watched about 10 minutes too much of a story about how poor Serena Williams was robbed of her last championship match because she got caught cheating. There was video of her coach giving her hand signals. But according to her it was because she was a woman! Years back she dog cussed a female official because she didn’t get a call. But ESPN always takes her side

Miles College, Fairfield, Alabama is a top 5 HBCU and has a less than 15% graduation rate. Interesting.

Totally agree. It’s incredible how some minorities are so successful and take advantage of all the opportunities they have while others simply prefer to blame others for being lazy and acting like criminals.

So guys the real issue wasn’t the athletic integration of schools like LSU.

The real issue is that HBCs were denied the opportunity to enter the power conferences. This was in an era when television revenue became the sole driving force of conference athletics. By simply taking in a few black athletes, they could avoid talking about the real issue, which was the money they would have to give to an HBC from TV revenue if they were to integrate the CONFERENCE, not just the teams.

Given equivalent revenue and TV exposure, and thus equivalent facilities and recruiting abilities, I have no doubt that a few HBCs would today be football powerhouses.

There is absolutely no relevancy in what you just said. You didn’t get into Harvard because your grades not because of your skin color. This post is really bringing out all the closet racists.

Tell me something. If blacks couldn’t get into restaurants, colleges, and all those other establishments. THEN WTF MAKES YOU THINK THEY COULD GET GOOD JOBS?

My great great grandfather survived solely on the fact that he could grow crops and raise chickens and pigs. He couldn’t get a job and alot of blacks back then couldn’t even read or write because of being neglected from education

GET A frickING CLUE. Nobody gives a shite about how you retired at 56. Everybody’s lives are different, and everybody didn’t have the same opportunities.

He likely would have been accepted to Harvard if his skin color were correct. You don’t want to talk about that, though.

Blacks have every opportunity in the world in this country, with arguably an easier path to success because of the built in qualifiers for simply being black. Get the frick over yourself and quit making excuses.

Everything you just posted is 100%, pure speculation.

You’re ASSUMING that people would have given up watching the traditional powers in favor of watching black athletes at HBCU’s.

This is the problem with your argument.

No one is denying that there were times in our history in which opportunities were denied to blacks. The key word is history. This isn’t an issue anymore, and hasn’t been for a very long time. We’ve had affirmative action for a while now. Blacks are literally hired for their skin color alone. My question is how long will this excuse be given for the lack of productivity?

Forever. It will always be the mantra to receive more and more free shite from the weak minded, guilt ridden, pathetic whites.

And blacks know this.

My favorite part is how they got to Andre Ware at Houston, circa 1988-1990 and basically said the big schools weren’t allowing black players to play Qb at that time... such a falsehood. I think every school but Ole Miss had started a black Qb before that time. Tony Rice won the NC at Notre Dame the year before that reference. Jamelle Holieway had just been the man at OU for two or three years.

It’s just a conspiratorial mind space some folks are in, and if they can stretch some timeframes, skew some facts, they can make a message and have lazy small minded people believe it all

Funny, this is the same thing that happened to both my grandfathers. Cajuns in SLA were treated horribly by Democrats during this time period as well.

My father and his siblings had to work jobs after school to help pay the rent. This was the 1970s.

Yet, I'm consistently told that it is MY FAULT for the situation so many others are in.

Well, you are really going to hate this, but...

Those poor people I mentioned in my post above?

My dad, through hard work, retired early as well as a self-made millionaire. Barely graduated HS bc of the jobs he had to take.

You would hate his guts as he is one of those evil white people we always hear about.

No. No it isn’t. THAT is a made up issue plucked right from that documentary. Please explain to me why any of the HBUs fit the criteria for joining the major conferences? Also tell me which schools would join?

The whole thing is overdramatized for exactly the reaction you gave it, you stopped thinking as soon as you heard that grandiose, hindsight deflection.

The real deal is, blacks chose to go play at the bigger schools. They still do. Why HBUs can’t recruit great teams and build followings and footprints, and keep it rolling long enough to get recognized, expand stadiums, and generate revenue, I’ll never know. BUT THEY HAVEN’T.

What makes this so bad is the fact that as lo g as there is this perpetual excuse for them, their lives will never actually improve. They will always blame others for their misfortunes. They are told by others that their actions and decisions have absolutely no impact on their lives. Instead it is whites oppressing them. With such an environment, are we to expect them to ever make better decisions and improve their actions? Are we to ever expect them to take accountability and responsibility for what they themselves do? No, because we don’t give them a reason to. We will always allow them to blame us, and then demand more free stuff. And they will continue to blame others for their misfortunes.
