THIS

I'm not sure about woodshed Monday night but this series is very close to being over right now at 2-0 Texas. I think we would win 6-7/10 but so far in this series Texas has been the better team.

The worst part about the loss is that LSU failed to knock their freshman starter out of the game. He pitched an entire game and saved the tex bullpen for the deciding game.

Very weak performance from LSU . . . that's probably the weakest aspect of the performance. When you can't even make the opponent use up some pitching in their elimination game, you have completely collapsed on that day.

Complete team collapse.

I think that LSU is dehydrated.

Great game Jungman and Texas. You guys never gave up and that says alot! Now its time for LSU to wake up and play ball. Last night was painful to watch but that is baseball! Let's win this thing tonight!!

That ump's strike zone reminded me of a business envelope.

This series is going to game 3 as it should. These are clearly the 2 best teams in the country. Anyone who thought either team was gonna stroll in and have the trophy handed to them was dreaming. Best 2 out of 3 between the 2 best teams. That's just the way it should be.

I gotta say I agree with the strike zone comments. The strike zone was wildly inconsistent all night long. Low strikes one pitch low balls the next. Jungman was a beast, Give him his props, kid threw a hell of a game. To be in the 90's in the 9th inning is the signs of a truly special kid. We can come back tonight and grab the 3rd game everyone will say we were the best.

P.S. I hate the announcers who seem to have this infatuation with All conferences but the SEC

I'm sick of the inconsistent home plate umpiring. The same low outside corner pitch was thrown about 20 times and called a strike 10 times and a ball 10 times. They act like they've never seen a curve ball before.

Texas played well. LSU has the best record in college baseball. Tonight it's all on the line for both great team. There are no losers in this series. LSU will come out on top.

It seems to me that a pitcher that has a lot of movement on his pitches seems to get a lot more close calls from the umpires, anytime. That kid from Texas had a lot of late movement. Not only does it make it hard to hit the ball solidly, but it gets a little favor from the umps, making it all the more difficult for batters. Great pitching tends to outweigh great hitting. Tip the hat to the Texas kid, he pitched a great game. But if anyone thinks either team will hold back any pitchers today, think again. Only Jungman will be unavailable for Texas. Do you think Coleman will decline a chance to pitch today, or Ott, or anyone else from LSU who can lift his arm?

The Texas pitcher was dominating. He located and mixed his pitches so we never got in rhythm. The old adage that good pitching beats good hitting every time. Kudos to Texas. But, tonite is another game!!!!!!! Geaux Tigers!!!!!!

He didn't mean for this to happen. I just posted a topic and somehow it ended up at the top of this page.

Dayum Hot Carl.

ETA: I don't really enjoy baseball that much so my sophmoric interpretation of what I saw and this subsequent sticky makes me chuckle.

TX pitching has been better than our starting pitching in the first 2 games. I am glad PM saved Ranaudo for tonight. He would have had to pitch a shutout last night to beat the TX pitcher. Winning the national championship is about winning the 3 game series. You hate to see it go 3 games, but sometimes that's the smartest route. I like our chances with Ranaudo/Ott on the mound tonight. Geaux Tigers!

I don't know if it was just fantastic pitching or tentative batting, but our hitters seemed frozen on the first pitch almost every time. I kept seeing these pitches right down the strike zone and almost heard the clunk in my head, but it never seemed to happen.

Undoubtedly a great pitching performance, but I think our batters were a little anxious. They gotta get over that tonight.

Yea...because if LSU would have won it then it surely would have meant nothing.
