Yeah Dugas and Bianco at the plate have been very frustrating.

Yep, and you can add Gio for me. He still swings at everything. I wouldn't be a big surprised if he hasn't been ahead in the count this year...

The only reason I'm not saying him yet is because he hasn't had near the opportunities that Bianco and Dugas have had so far.

Which, given how much he played last year and his speed, is a red flag in and of itself.

Agreed but Toups fits that mold as well and he might have a higher upside than Gio at this point.

Agreed. I'd like to see Toups get more AB's.

We have faced a lot of lefties early. That plays into it. Hampton is supposed to be a stud, so he is being given opportunities early. Gio obviously had ample time, with Hampton gone, to make that position really difficult to take away, and obviously he didn't. So I won't pretend like he's not being given a fair shot, but he still has had less opportunities, during the season, than some of the others we are complaining about.

Dugas in particular appears to be just closing his eyes and swinging away up there.

It's a shame b/c he has so much potential. He just has to stop striking out so much. 9 strike outs in 18 AB's. That's ridiculous.

I would like to see Doughty and Toups get more at bats...they are the future, if we don't like what we have now then at least groom them.

I knew Travinski would be a giant boom or bust but I would still like to see him put the bat on the ball more.

Not to take anything away from Marceaux and Labas, but this is what happens when your offensive approach is way too aggressive. EKU wasn’t patient at all and they let our starters get easy, quick outs. Y’all will remember that it’s why PM’s hitting solution to slumps of being even more aggressive was so infuriating.

Obviously Toups has a very limited sample size so far, but he actually has an OB% of .444

At this point, I don't think we can have Dugas, Bianco and Travinski in the same line up. It's simply too much swing and miss. I'd rather only see one of them in the lineup at a time, unless something drastically improves.

Because he has a good plate approach and isnt afraid to work counts, i really am pulling for him to win left field

This; Toups isn’t afraid to take a strike or even get down 0-2.

Agreed.

Discounting the midweek game and what players may see time I would like to see these 9 heading into the weekend

Cabrera RF
Milazzo C
Mathis 3B
Garza DH
Beloso 1B
Hampton CF
Toups LF
Doughty 2B
Hughes/Cranford SS

Agreed.

Also, Milazzo is a fricking stud.

Funny thing is that he's actually 2-2 in stolen bases this year.

Just saw a really good stat for Doughty. He only has 1 strike out in 22 AB's.

I'm with you, impressed and excited to see the pitching staff as the season goes on. There are some young bats, hopefully they really come along the more at bats they get. This team can be really good if their bats come around and pitchers stay healthy.
