If these first two weeks are a precursor to what we have in store the rest of the year how can you not be fired up.
Cole lost command this last weekend but I am not worried about him. Marceaux and Labas had incredible outings this weekend. Still working out a couple of things with the bullpen but the two lefties looked really good Sunday.
I know, but, but we can't hit...I am much more excited about our starting 3 than I am worried about our bats at this point. Hopefully the bottom 4 in the lineup can start giving us at least some production soon. But if we can average close to 7 innings out of our weekend 3, our pitching staff should be in a really good spot.

We obviously won't be able to expect Marceaux and Labas to average under 10 pitches an inning weekly. As long as two of the three are solid every weekend, we have a chance to win every series.

They won't be on a pitch count under 80 either so it should workout.

The real test starts this weekend but I'm much more confident in the pitching staff than the 6-9 hitters in this current lineup.

Agreed, id be okay playing gio and hampton in the outfield at this point. They both have great speed, maybe they can beat out a few grounders

Bianco did show some urgency Sunday.

Agreed but Toups fits that mold as well and he might have a higher upside than Gio at this point.

Id be fine with toups playing. Hopefully the next time PM gives him a shot, itll be against a righty, instead of sticking him in there against a lefty

He squared a few up, and had no Ks in 4 ABs. I know we aren't talking about Earth shattering stuff, but it was a movement in a better direction (not that he had anywhere else to go but up).

Im not saying he shouldnt be in a rotation, but no one has won this job, and i think they need to keep rotating, he, toups, and gio there. And maybe consider doughty if cade cant play 2nd

He made a great play but it had a lot to do with where he was playing that batter. It was up against the wall but he did not have to track far...they had him playing way back. He has not shown anything at the plate and has far less range than Gio or Toups.

I think we should be at a constant righty/lefty match up in CF and LF, until one of them gets hot. Cranford stays at SS. Doughty needs to be in this lineup as well, so his glove needs to get right.

Agreed.

LF/CF/2B/SS are all up in the air at this point which is disappointing.

Id say disappointing a little. Was hoping at least one or two of those positions had a frontrunners by now

I'm glad we only have one midweek game this week. Might give us some time to work some things out.

Disappointing. It wasn’t a crazy thought to believe Bianco, Gio, and Dugas would have progressed at the plate since last season and locked in starting roles. Dugas in particular appears to be just closing his eyes and swinging away up there. With his speed, Gio should have had an OF spot locked up on that alone but he doesn’t appear to have progressed in the field either.

Yeah Dugas and Bianco at the plate have been very frustrating.
