I'm not even in a relationship with this girl yet buddy...and have no clue if I ever will be. I did tell her she was welcome to come after the wedding and reception though

Alternative - tell her no, but ask her out on a real date for another time. Hell, invite her to an LSU game.

i wish this was the case for me. one of my best friends is getting married that day. at least he picked an away game. and he says no way we are going to miss the game itself. but i am a little concerned. i don't want to miss a single play.

if she couldn't understand him skipping the wedding then she is not worth it.

I have the same problem. One of my good friends is getting married @ 4 that day. I think it's going to be a short wedding so I don't think I'll miss much. What really sucks is that I will be around a bunch of ppl that hate LSU so if we lose I will have to deal w/ them all night.

This. If you ask her out on a date you don't sacrifice anything.

Probably not (I can't think of any), but sometimes when opportunity knocks...

sure, but if she is going to get upset because you dont want to miss a big game then she is not the right person anyways.

i don't understand what the debate is about. either she is cool or she is not. don't put the pussy on a pedestal.

seriously, i don't even look back at girls that i was in a serious relationship with and wonder about it. 6 months after? sure. 2 years after? nope. 20 years? you have got to be kidding me.

I don't understand why any chick in Baton Rouge would even think about getting married on a game day. Its just inconsiderate. And its begging to have half your guests aggravated and/or listening to ear buds during the ceremony.

All I'm saying is don't screw up an opportunity. I'm thinking the best thing to say is something like:

"I'd love to go with you, but I am a huge LSU fan. I can't miss the Alabama game. I'd really like to go out with you though. How about later that evening or next Friday (or whatever)?"

If she doesn't like that, then she probably isn't the right girl for an LSU fan.

If she says, "I KNOW - what a pain in the arse - on an LSU football weekend - what douchebags!" and then wants to go out, then you've got one that might be a keeper.

Still, I'd personally take a date with a good prospect over an LSU game on TV. That's just me though.

its all about her in her mind.

the wedding i have to go to is in tenn. its at least kinda excusable that that chick is not worried about LSU football. but in baton rouge? wow.

just depends on where you are in your life i guess. the way this guy sounds is that he would rather watch an LSU game then go on this date. that is all that is important.

Amen. It sucks for me in Atlanta because the women that schedule weddings in the fall with at least a nod to college football will schedule them on UGA bye weeks. The thing about here is that people are from everywhere. So they still end up pissing off a bunch of people that aren't UGA fans.

There should be no weddings allowed during football season period. It should be a law or something. It's not natural.

Well, she should know she's going to look out at her guests during the ceremony and see plenty of diurty looks from dates, as well as people paying more atention to the guy with the earbuds to her stupid wedding dress.

A good friend of mine asked me to stand for him in 07 during a home game. I laughed and told him no way and that he should dump that bitch if she can't wait until spring. He was pissed. But now he's already divorced and we're still friends because he knows I was right.

i think a recap of the initial set of facts with additional information is in order:

1-where is the wedding?

2-will there be alcohol served at the reception (or is this something you can get out of quickly)?

3-do you have mobile espn360 connectivity?

4-how long does she expect the reception to go?
