So there is this chick that seems to be really sweet that has been calling and texting me. We've hung out and talked a few times here and there, but nothing serious. Well she told me tonight that her co-worker is getting married next Saturday and she said that this girl had a find a date to the reception or she was going to find one for her. My first question was..."Who the hell gets married during football season?" And then I had to tell her I was sorry but no way I could make it cause LSU was playing Bama.

What makes it even worse is that the wedding is right across the street from my house and the reception is just a few blocks away. Wedding is at 1 though with the reception following. No way my friends would ever let me live this down if I went...

Who the hell would get married the day of the LSU/Bama game??

Tell them it's their fault for not making it a week earlier and at least given you a shot at attending.

Still no chance in hell I'd miss even this weekend. Not for two people getting married that I don't know. Even if it is to go as a date to what seems to be a really sweet girl. I don't even remember the last home game I missed.

I feel horrible for the people who feel obligated to go. At least the wedding will be over by the time the game starts. And the ones who can't miss it might be able to get out the reception. There should at the very least be a tv set up for watching at the reception. What kind of dude would agree to get married on this day though?

Well if I HAD to be at a wedding and reception during any LSU game there would certainly be a tv. That is better then listening to it on radio.

Geaux to the wedding. A game only last for a couple of hours, a relationship could last a lifetime.

One of my best friends got married the day of the UGA/LSU game at 6, we were about a 10 min ride away from the wedding. Some buddies and I watched the game and at about 5:45 when UGA scored to take the lead , we all said frick it and just showed up to the reception because we couldn't leave the TV

I hope you are joking cause this made me laugh. I'm not even in a relationship with this girl yet buddy...and have no clue if I ever will be. I did tell her she was welcome to come after the wedding and reception though

If you can see yourself dating this girl, it MIGHT be worth it.

Hell no!! If I'd cave in for this before we are dating...can you imagine the other stuff she would want me to miss LSU for??

I should also add though...she is a fan of LSU. Just not quite as big into as I am. That could change if we would happen to start dating though.

I was at a wedding on St. Charles in New Orleans during the epic LSU-Florida game in October of 1997. I kept walking out to the car to listen to updates on the radio. I noticed a few other people checking car radio updates. In the 4th quarter, when it appeared that LSU might win a group of us left and went to a bar around the corner to watch the end of the game. We got into real trouble because my wife and one of the other guy's girlfriend were very upset with us for leaving. The only chick in our group wasn't with a date so she skated. But it was so worth it to leave at the critical time to see the end of the game.

As for your situation, got no advice, except go to the wedding if you think you will get lucky for going.

I stood in a wedding on LSU/Bama day. Granted it was during the Dinardo days but I am a diehard fan so it was tough.

I went FM Walkman during the pre-ceremony crap, abstained for the actual ceremony and the ENDLESS photo session.

Then I had Hawthorne again in the car and earbuds at the reception. Caught the fourth quarter at the hotel.

It wasn't ideal, nor near the stakes of this year's game, but the gal went to Tech and she could give a Saban about who LSU played that day.

So you just figure it out and be there for you friend. Or that tramp you're trying to bone.

My brother in law (LA Tech grad) got married last year during the LSU @ USCe game. I was an usher so I had to sit front row so I gave my other brother in law my phone (since his didn't have the internet) and he sat behind me and fed me the scores throughout the wedding. Halfway through my wife (who was a bridesmaid on the other side of the church) caught on. I thought she was gonna be pissed since it was her brothers wedding but she then mouthed "whats the score." Man I love that woman.

At the reception I checked the scores so often my phone died halfway through the 4th quarter. I then proceeded to my car to listen to the remaining part of the game on the radio.

Got a wedding this weekend in Vegas. This time I am gonna make sure my phone is fully charged. But hopefully since its Tulane I wont have to check the scores that often.

I was @ a wedding when LSU lost to Miami of Ohio, some 25 years ago. Of course there was no TV for that game, and I'm sure glad there wasn't.
