Louisville. Wanted to say Arizona but beating UNC on the road in the supers was pretty impressive.

Worst two teams are Murray State and Louisville, and the two I expect to go 2 and Q.

Would not shock me in the slightest if the loser of LSU/Arkansas goes 0-2. Especially if the first game is an emotional/close one.

UCLA and Murray State are both really good teams.

Nothing is shocking at this point of the year. You don't make it this far without a good team. I stand by the worst two teams are Murray State and Louisville.

Sure, but how often does the perceived "worst" team entering the CWS go 0-2?

I genuinely don't know.

I do recall that Oral Roberts won its first game in 2023.

Little Rock was the worst team in the tournament.

Murray State was the worst team in supers.

It doesn’t mean much

Your title said weakest team. That’s what I answered. Change the title to the question that you really want to ask.

I genuinely believe there are no weak teams in this year's tournament; each squad possesses unique strengths that could carry them to victory. I watched Arizona's first game against UNC and initially thought they weren't quite ready to face a powerhouse like the Tar Heels. Their pitching seemed lacking, yet against all odds, they managed to secure two straight wins.

Coastal Carolina and Oregon State stand out as the most formidable contenders; CC absolutely dismantled Auburn, a team I had high hopes for in this tournament. Meanwhile, LSU's bats are starting to heat up at just the right moment. I'm feeling cautiously optimistic about our chances.

I'm going Louisville and Murray State . Would go Arizona and Louisville but they are both in the same bracket . Louisville is the worst defensive/fielding team AND the worst pitching team in the field . Interesting Sidenote: Everybody tends to look only at hitting and pitching, but, the better fielding team won 7 of the 8 Super Regionals.

The question is what are the worst two teams in Omaha. Of course this is conjecture and it's not like I've studied these teams all year.

Louisville was an average team in the ACC that isn't bringing an Ace to Omaha. I haven't seen any of their guys in MLB mock drafts and they have an RPI of 29. Coastal Carolina, LSU, Oregon State, UCLA, Arkansas, Arizona, are all in the top 20, and most in the top 10.

Murray State can clearly hit the ball but forgive me for not being threatened by a team from the Missouri Valley Conference. They've had a great run but let's be honest they caught a major break when they didn't have to face Hunter Elliott against Ole Miss. They face him and I seriously doubt they score 7 runs to win game 1 and go to the winners bracket.

Could I be wrong? Absolutely. Who freaking knows.

Interesting thought experiment.

2024: Oddsmakers had NC State and Florida as the two least likely teams. I don't have a better metric to choose the worst two teams, but I understand it's biased by their draw.
- NC State went 0-2
- Florida went 2-2. They lost game 1, eliminated NC State, eliminated Kentucky and lost to Aggie

2023: Oddsmakers had Stanford and Oral Roberts as the two least likely teams
- Stanford went 0-2
- Oral Roberts went 1-2, beating TCU in Game 1, losing to UF and then rematch to TCU

2022: Oddsmakers had Aggie and Auburn as the two least likely, but the odds ranged from +425 to +800 across the board so it was a very evenly matched tournament.
- Auburn went 1-2, beating Stanford in losers bracket
- Aggie went 2-2, beating Texas in losers bracket and then Notre Dame before losing to OU in Semis

2021: Oddsmakers had Virginia and NC State as the two least likely.
- NC State was in winners bracket, dropped a game to Vandy and then had to forfeit because of COVID, went 2-1 overall
- Virginia went 1-2

So in the past four tournaments, the two teams considered least likely to win the tourney have both NEVER gone 0-2, and beyond that, they only go 0-2 25% of the time across the board. They've also never gone to the CWS championship.
