We made the final game last season, but went 1-2 in 2023. Who cares if they last in the tournament unless you need it. LSU Probably won't.

The SECT is more of a warmup/scrimmage. It doesn't really hold any weight unless you are Missouri or South Carolina that has to win it to keep your season alive.

SECT is for good teams like Arkansas or Vandy to win in preparation for unceremoniously quick exits from their own regionals

If LSU is a top 4 seed in the SECT, they can play a max of 3 games in Hoover, the same amount of games they’ll play the week before Hoover. I don’t think the whole “want to lose early to get more rest for regionals” thing holds as much weight this year with the format change. No longer double elimination. They don’t play until Thu or Fri with a top 4 seed. Yes it doesn’t matter NEAR as much as Omaha but the players and coaches want to win. And as fans it’s another chance to get wins over rivals. Could play Arkansas or get a chance for revenge on Texas in the championship. Even if the games aren’t super meaningful in terms of the NCAAs, there will be huge crowds at those games and it’s great baseball

Yea i mean sure it’s great if we end up the four seed and win the tournament. I just won’t care if we don’t. The SECT has become totally meaningless. Wouldn’t bother me if it was done away with in favor of an 11th conference series

coach does not care about the SEC tournament, because coach is smart. its a stupid way to waste energy going into the only thing that actually matters, the regional.
if you need to play well in the SEC tournament the season is a failure
